POWER companies in the Capital will now have to mention the duration of outages every month in your electricity bill.The Capital's power regulator, the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission ( DERC), has created a new format for the monthly bills that all power companies will have to follow.
The new feature in the monthly bills comes after the city's biggest power supplier, the BSES Rajdhani Power Limited ( BRPL), was found to have under- reported the duration of power cuts last June.
" Listing the duration of power cuts in electricity bills will provide greater transparency and alert the consumers in case the outages have been under- reported," said a senior DERC official.
