Consumers of the Capital's power distribution companies BRPL and BYPL will now be able to pay their electricity bills at the neighbourhood store. The companies have entered into a separate agreement with Suvidhaa Infoserve enabling customers to pay their bills at any of the 1,200 Suvidhaa stores across Delhi and the National Capital Region.
Under the agreement, BRPL's over 15 lakh customers in South Delhi and West Delhi will have an option to pay their electricity bills through both cash (up to Rs.4,000) or cheque. Over 11 lakh customers of BYPL in East and Central Delhi in the first phase will have the option of paying their bills through cheque and demand draft. At the Suvidhaa centres, customers will have to state the CRN number and make the payment by cheque or cash. "Customers can pay their BRPL/BYPL electricity bills through this service by paying a nominal transaction fee of only Rs.3 per bill to the retailer," said a BSES spokesperson.
