It has been observed that the Real Time Ambient Air Quality data, being shown by DPCC, on its website has some Technical flaws. On the Diwali night, our Team was keeping an eye on the figures of Air Quality Index and the outcome at a specific time was very Shocking and as below:

It clearly shows, that out of the 18 stations, at least 12 critical points as above, were not showing any data, at a critical juncture, on the Diwali night, when Hon’ble SC had ordered a ban on the crackers, to analyse the impact of the ban on the levels of Pollution in Delhi.

DPCC must look into it very seriously & must take necessary steps to remove the technical problems if any, so that the clear figures could come out for making the serious policy decisions, in this most polluted city.

REMINDER TO THE RWAs OF DELHI: Delhi government had opened registration for rooftop solar power plants in June 2017

Under the scheme, 30 per cent central financial assistance will be given by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy(MNRE) on the cost of the solar photovoltaic plant.

New Delhi: The Delhi government's power department today (news dated 18th June 2017) said it has opened the registration process for installation of rooftop solar power plants in the city, as it aims to tap one GigaWatt of green energy by the year 2020.

"The registration process has been opened for residents of Delhi in the residential, institutional and social sector categories under the city government's solar policy of 2016 and Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission's (Net Metering for Renewable Energy) Regulations 2014," a senior official said.

Under the scheme, 30 percent central financial assistance will be given by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on the cost of the solar photo voltaic plant.

The generation-based incentive (GBI) of Rs two per unit is also there for the residential category, the official said.

The Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd (IPGCL) has empanelled vendors for solar photo-voltaic installations.

Earlier this month, Lt Governor Anil Baijal had directed the power department to prepare a standard operating procedure(SOP) and a roadmap for promoting installation of solar power panels in the city.

The Delhi Solar Policy, which aims at the mass adoption of solar power in the city, was notified on September 27, 2016.

The highlights of the policy includes a generation-based incentive for three years.

Traffic jam at Jagat Puri Intersection in east Delhi

This is to inform you that traffic Light at the Jagat puri a Block intersection is frequently down resulting into in massive traffic Jam. Today also the traffic light was malfunctioning and this has resulted in massive traffic Jam at 7.52AM.  I had called the traffic helpline no 01125844444  from my mobile and they have promised the quick action but till 8.20am no traffic policemen were there so some youngster had taken the traffic duty and traffic was controlled to some extent. Will the Joint CP Traffic will look into this traffic light problem and make a permanent solution to this frequent problem at this intersection.

As per Wikipedia, “Environment is everything that is around us. It can be living or nonliving things. It includes physical, chemical and other natural forces. Living things live in their environment. They constantly interact with it and change in response to conditions in their environment.” And this is the hardcore truth. If we are living in a most polluted city, i.e. Delhi, we have to adjust our lives accordingly. If it is the most populated, with massive traffic jams, with many other issues, we have no options, but to adjust our lives accordingly.

As, it is the same city, that gives us a Super Life too. Just enter it from any of its borders and you will feel the difference. The difference, that emerges clearly from your eyes, mind, heart as well as your soul. This political capital of India is a city of Flyovers to move from one end to another. The Metro has given it a greater connectivity that is being enjoyed by one & all. The top-rated Railway stations & Airports have given it a super status. The beautiful malls on every corner enhance the shopping power of residents to a greater extent. And the emergence of Vodafone as the strong player has made it very well connected digitally & otherwise.

Yeah, we can say that in spite of various issues connecting the National capital, it has got a Super Life and has also resulted in the super development of the NCR areas, such as Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida as well Sonipat. The residents of these areas are today enjoying a Super Life, but it was not there till a few years ago when there were no flyovers, no big malls & no Delhi Metro. The life was not the same when there was no Vodafone too. I still remember the days of a dozen disconnections, a dozen missed calls, a dozen missed opportunities, every hour, and it was just a routine till Vodafone had not emerged as the strongest service provider in Delhi & NCR. 

I still remember the days when I used to get messages to my SMS that my mobile is out of reach. The service provider that I was using at that time was not strong enough to provide quality signals all over. The result was that there were no incoming rings as I was mostly out of the reach, due to weak signals, and if there was a ring, there was a very low voice both inwards & outwards, that was difficult to hear, and thirdly, the call used to disconnect at every few seconds. The only incoming thing at that time was the hefty bills due to the nuisance mentioned above. And all this was happening in the mega city that is known as New Delhi, all over the world.

I still remember that after my dozens of complaints, the service provider sent a team with certain instruments to check the signal strength at my home & shockingly there was NO CONNECTIVITY at my residence as per that equipment & they were sending me hefty bills and I was forced to pay all those bills every month. The minute Vodafone emerged as the strongest player in the mobile sector, I immediately switched towards Vodafone, years ago, and till date, I have no problem with it.  Thanks to Vodafone as that was the time when my tensions, my problems due to poor connection vanished and till date, I am using the Vodafone as its proud customer.

Delhi residents fear diseases may spread soon : DNA

The sanitation workers’ strike in the last one year has caused a lot of inconvenience to the city residents. Heaps of garbage on the roads have become a regular sight for locals especially for those living in east Delhi. The garbage dumps outside most homes have led to an alarming rise in dengue, malaria, and viral fever, affecting the overall health condition of the national capital.

“The stink emanating from garbage has made it difficult for us to even walk in the area. The corporation should understand the sensitivity of the issue and address it. The piled-up garbage can spread many diseases, and result in a pest situation,” said BS Vohra, president of east Delhi RWA’s Joint Front Federation.

Doctors and public health officials have sent out a warning that Delhi could soon be hit by an epidemic if there is any more delay in tackling the situation. According to doctors, decayed household waste items, containing mostly solid waste like half-eaten vegetables and meat products, may give rise to bacterial illnesses such as typhoid and jaundice that spread through contaminated food and water.

“This is the time of the year when water-borne diseases like malaria and typhoid are on the rise. Young kids are susceptible to such diseases. All precautionary measures must be taken by parents. We advise all our patients to maintain good hygiene levels,” said Dr SP Byotra, department of internal medicine, Sir Ganga Ram hospital.

Recently, the Delhi High Court also pulled up the authorities for the ongoing health crisis in the Capital. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said the failure to remove garbage and clean the dhalaos (dumps) have major repercussions. It results in the breeding of disease-bearing mosquito larvae leading to serious diseases like dengue and chikungunya. “Safai karamcharis shall ensure that they seriously carry out the assigned duties of MCDs and no obstruction shall be caused. There can be no stoppage of essential work of cleaning and removal of garbage. Doing so imperils lives of the public at large,” the bench said.

During the hearing, central government standing counsel Monika Arora said that there were some safai karmacharis who were creating problems and refusing to discharge their duties, and also stopping others from doing work. Consequently, she said, garbage was accumulating on roads having an adverse impact on the health of the residents.

WHAT THE LAW SAYS

As per recommendations of the Third Delhi Finance Commission, the three municipalities must receive 10.5% of the amount from the city government collected through duties, toll and other taxes under the non-plan head. The grant is divided into three parts — 5% (education expenditure), 4% (routine assignments) and 1.5% (municipal reform funds). Under Article 243 of the Indian Constitution, if the municipalities are in financial distress then the state government has a responsibility to provide assistance. Corporations want the Fourth Finance Commission’s recommendations, which are pending since 2012, to be implemented. This will take the state government grant to Rs 8,000 crore.
