Since last over 25 years there is none to stop water logging in Krishna nagar

Krishna nagar, the first DLF colony, a posh locality drowned in the rains today. Since last over 25 years the residents are facing the same problem, but till date no respite, no hope, no assurances from any section of administration or elected members. 25 years ago CNN came to us for interview and today we are expecting Delhi Aaj Tak. Is there any one who cares for the residents of the area who suffer heavy losses due to this regular water logging where one can view floating beds, sofa sets inside the homes.

Floor-Area Ratio May Rise In Places Near Metro,BRT In Delhi,Subdivision Of Plots May Now Be Possible

In a move that may pave the way for further construction in many localities including some upscale ones the Delhi cabinet has decided to recommend to the Centre an increase in the floor-area ratio of houses along Metro corridors, the BRT, some special areas and unauthorized colonies which have been regularized. There is also a proposal to allow subdivision of plots in the regularized colonies.

Though the specifics are yet to be worked outlike the exact FAR increase and the distance from Metro corridors and BRT where the new proposals will apply by the looks of it, large areas of south Delhi including Greater Kailash, Defence Colony and Lajpat Nagar may make the cut if the recommendations are accepted.

After the cabinet meeting, urban development minister A K Walia said the suggestion to allow increased FAR along Metro and BRT corridors was to prevent unplanned congestion and help redevelopment of these areas. Sources said the suggestions are based on the premise that better transport facilities lead to more people crowding to these areas and the need to pre-empt a mess in these colonies.

Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit said the decision was taken keeping in view the increase in family units and related residential needs.

The proposal to increase the floor-area ratio of houses along Metro corridors, the BRT, some special areas and unauthorized colonies that have been regularized came in for sharp criticism from architect and town planner, Kuldip Singh. ``It's the most thoughtless thing that could have been proposed. The reason for promoting public transport system is to decongest the city. Allowing more FAR along such corridors will lead to further congestion,'' he said.

Creativity comes from within

I may be pardoned to repeat what had earlier been blogged. But it is very much relevant today.

Over the last six centuries, the top writers, poets, scientists etc etc have been young persons between the age of 20 to 40 years.
Why india has not produced any world class invention in the field of medicine, medical treatment, electronics or any useful and comfort item.
There is nothing in present generation born before indepence or after independence which could show that we are tax payers and followers of laws.
We pride in evading income tax, sale tax and hoodwinking authorities.
It is only the YOUTHS who could correct the situation.
The need is to create pressure groups and then to channalise their energies.
GAMES ARE TO BE ORGANISED THIS YEAR.
The world will be watching not only games but our conduct on roads, in and around the game venue.
What is your reaction to above and how to eradicate above tendency of avoiding responsibilities.

CWG & corruption

Dear Mr. Vohra,

I have read Mr. Vijay Kochar's view and think still there are some Nation Loving persons amongst us. I ,really, fail to understand what many a Leaders/ Public Servants are doing for the Nation ?( as if they are not the part of Govt/nation.?) now some  leaders announce a national strike call for the C W. Games or Kashmir un -rest/ burning of Govt. Property etc. etc.

I have been to Kashmir many a times, there are mountains, lakes, gardens,Rivers " Where from loads of STONES have come from now only"? ? never seen before ? Kashmir was a place of beauty and peace, Where are those days of Brotherhood of Pandits, Muslims and Sikhs in J&K ? Now the J&K State Govt. should be answerable to Parliament and jointly both should be answerable to the nation for such activities in J&K and other States too.

IF good Opposition wants to have some creative service to the Nation WHY THEY SHOULD NOT GO TO KASHMIR AND EXPERIENCE THE FACTS OF THE ENTIRE SITUATION THERE ONLY AND SUGGEST WHAT CENTER OR STATE GOVT. SHOULD DO TO END THIS  HEART BURNING PROBLEM? Insted of calling  National Bands or rallies etc.

What is the use of calling a "National Band" when it is a matter of STATE ?
I think tons of money is wasted in such types of counter productive Bands/rallies etc. also by not allowing peaceful working in the Parliament for many a times WHAT productive or creative help/ suggestion is given to the Nation with such activities ! Will any of such leaders think on these lines ?

In my opinion, opposition is not for creating impediments only on every issue BUT should work like a Good Monitor of the Public in the Parliament for the wrong policies or corruption and weak national policies IF any by the Govt.

No one should be spared by Law for such anti National acts, who so ever he or she may be If proved guilty in the National cause.  Therefore,Let us join Hands with Govt. to bring Peace in the Nation and States and have Good CWG too, well managed and completed with flying colors ! !

Now Pay Your Power Bills At Suvidhaa Outlets

Consumers of the Capital's power distribution companies BRPL and BYPL will now be able to pay their electricity bills at the neighbourhood store. The companies have entered into a separate agreement with Suvidhaa Infoserve enabling customers to pay their bills at any of the 1,200 Suvidhaa stores across Delhi and the National Capital Region.

Under the agreement, BRPL's over 15 lakh customers in South Delhi and West Delhi will have an option to pay their electricity bills through both cash (up to Rs.4,000) or cheque. Over 11 lakh customers of BYPL in East and Central Delhi in the first phase will have the option of paying their bills through cheque and demand draft. At the Suvidhaa centres, customers will have to state the CRN number and make the payment by cheque or cash. "Customers can pay their BRPL/BYPL electricity bills through this service by paying a nominal transaction fee of only Rs.3 per bill to the retailer," said a BSES spokesperson.

Commonwealth Games: Civic agencies also responsible for mess

NEW DELHI: Rs 1,034 crore. That’s the amount of money that the DDA is spending on the Commonwealth Games 2010. Enough, you would think to ensure that the preparations go off without a hitch.

Yet smooth sailing has been markedly absent in the run-up to the Games for the land agency. Controversies have dogged the DDA, right from the legacy of the Commonwealth Games Village — originally thought of as a hostel for Delhi University but ultimately ending up as a high-end residential destination — to the shocking delay in construction of the flats meant for tourists and the Games technical staff.

Most projects started late — in 2008. While Siri Fort got held up almost immediately with the local RWA going to court over cutting of trees and the heavy construction near a heritage site — the Siri Fort wall — the Village was delayed due to a payment spat between the developer, Emaar MGF, and the local contractor, Ahluwalia Contracts. Yamuna Sports Complex has been consistently missing deadlines , mostly due to the complexity of the design of this table tennis stadium.
