Professionals can help in cwg games

Government agencies are busy to complete scheduled works.
Electricity continuity is a must and in brief I share what was done in ASIAD in1984.
JNU STADIUM
33kv feed was ensured from three different sources.
So was the position in IG STADIUM.
In addition, back up feed from gas turbine was kept ready.
CHECKING OF LINES AND SUBSTATIONS
IP POWER STATION, and 33kv maintenance was having HOT POINTS DETECTION CAMERAS.
It is a must that all joints on at least power stations, grid stations and transmission lines are checked and proper records are kept.
One week before games, strategic locations must be rechecked, load reduced or transferred to avoid over loading.
The battery status needs to be hundred percent ok.
It wil be necessary to check protection schemes and proper operation of circuit breakers.
BREAK DOWN GANGS AND SYSTEM CONTROL
Must be manned by senior most and well versed engineers.
Hope these suggestions wil be considered.

A decorated sportsperson having been conferred "Asiad Jyoti" award by the President of India is between us

Dear friend(s),

Let's all get together and make it happen! High sounding words, practically meaning nothing at the ground level. But HOW? IS THE QUESTION.

To cite an example, I am one of the decorated sportspersons having been conferred "Asiad Jyoti" award by the President of India for the 'outstanding success for the organization and conduct of the Asian Games-82 in Delhi'. Having gained experience and expertise in the field of organization of sports, I had volunteered to serve the CWG organizing Committee and sent bio-data, as well, in response to their advt. a year back, but alas not even an ack. not to talk of sending a 'call letter' and rejecting even now at this belated stage!

There are such innumerable silent passionate and committed sports administrators in Delhi and around, but perhaps we could not catch the 'eyes' of those who matters in the Organizing Committee or done 'chamchagiri'. You would be really surprised that not even a single 'decorated official' of the Asiad-82 is now associated with the CWG-2010! Nor they will honour or invite them at least as mere observers to attend the CWG-2010! This is the pathetic condition in Indian sport.

Have you ever heard that a 83 old woman becoming the President of HI after serving the AIWHA for a countless time as its President in the past leaving aside an Olympian and decorated player to head the organization. Count for example how many Presidents and Secretaries are heading the National Sports Federations for so many decades with no end and not allowing the 'younger, positive and capable' sportspersons coming into it!

Even I had sent the bio-data to the Delhi Administration under the Bhagidari scheme, where they had invited applications for volunteers to help the Games Organizing Committee and I don't know what is the fate of those applications!!

This is Bharat Mahan and not Australia where a 'voluntary scheme' in vogue right from the ground level to the topmost in every sphere of activity with no cost to the service-providers! Can we match it. NO!  I am not negative but totally positive but people should know the callous attitude of people who are selfless, -patriotic and passionate to do things for the sake of our country. Let's not give only lip service and eulogize whatever is being done - rightly or wrongly without looking into it in depth from all angles and directions!

Secretary/RBECHS/Anand Vihar

Notwithstanding, we could only pray to the Almighty for showering His/Her blessings on the organizers to come out with flying colours and grand success of the Games!

ON GOING CWG PROJECTS and citizens

Mr.kochar is right. We should not be only drain inspectors. The works completed must also be appreciated.
But criminal cost escalations, open flouting of quality control etc etc need to be thoroughly probed.
It is for press, tv channels, and citizen groups to act as watch dogs.
But, we condone every criminal act.
We do not raise voice if taxi stands are for minting money as private cars are sent as taxis, foot paths are grabbed, raised or lowered, barricaded . Just walk along nagraj muni marg from shakapur to preet vihar G block.
No amount of letter writings or raising issues in bhagidari help.
Now there is no fear of anti corruption or judiciary.
Please let us be not complacent but vigilant

we should not come out with only negativity

Dear Vohra Ji,
First of all I thank this Blog, which has come up with your rigrous efforts, for providing opportunity to all of us to come out with their sentiments and views on matters of mutual interest.
I am, to some extent agreeable with the views expressed by Mr. Jeet Kumar and Shri Ram Gupta.  I am also viewing TV and the news telecasted during the last so many days.  Cases of corruptions have really hurted me.  I think most of the officials in contact with public jobs are involved in corruption.  The money sanctioned by the Govt. is not exactly reaching at a place where it is required to reach and to whom it has to reach.  But the point is what to do in such like a situation?
In the news over the TV none of the channels have shown that in what way Delhi has improved its infrastructure, which was very much needed whether Games were there or not.  Every channel has shown that water is leaking in a stadium but I am sorry to say we were not able to have a glimpse of that Stadium, its other merits/demerits.
Taking into consideration that it is the Prestige of our Nation involved and we should not come out with only negativity, media should highlight atleast few good things so that our Guests do come to Delhi to watch Common Wealth Games.
Regards,
Vijay Kochhar

Officials prove CM wrong, take a dig at deadlines

New Delhi: The authorities seem to be taking a dig at deadlines, again. Despite chief minister Sheila Dikshit's order to stop all digging work in the city by July 31, civic agencies, discoms and telecom companies continue to open new fronts across the city.

Though the CM's office had categorically ruled out deviations in deadlines, Times City on Monday found that agencies had started digging work on new stretches all over the city. In GK-I, GK-II, Panchsheel Park, area near India Gate, Pamposh Enclave and Daryaganj, work related to laying of underground wires, installation of streetlights and streetscaping had started only a day ago on Sunday.

Most labourers working on site were not aware of the deadline and had no idea when the digging work would be completed. A labourer busy laying underground wires in GK-I said: "If it rains again on Tuesday, our work will be delayed further. We could not take up the task of laying underground wires during the weekend due to heavy showers.'' Delay is just a part of the problem. The material dug out has been left to rot on the road causing massive inconvenience to motorists and residents. Member GK-I RWA, Rajiv Kakaria, said: "Malba is picked up from one site and dumped at a place close by. In some areas, only a portion of the malba is cleared. Amid chaos, the civic agencies are continuing with their digging work.''

WHY and WHO are making C W Games - a Shame for our Nation ?

Dear Mr. Vohra,

Let's understand the basics of our governing system, this very system is sick, and suffering from Cancer in the stream of working, Not from the Origin.

See, when GANGA starts from GANGOTRI > to Varanasi> ? we all know what are the tributries/ Nalaals just add themselves in to the flow and like wise When Govt. comes out with something for the entire Nation, the oppositions bring out the placards- -Mother & Father Rallies - Rath yatras and what not !

On top of the vice address to nation, " Look What sort of water is flowing here, not fit for human or animal usage and our Prime Minister is not doing any thing". Has any Prime Minister of our Nation ever spoiled the systems ?

Where are the Leaders to show them Gangotri and ask Why don't you show  the Nation water at GANGOTRI ?  Why pointing at Mirzapur or Hawara?

What all is going on in Northern Part of our nation, Eastern part of the Nation Burning of Trains ? Govt.Buildings ? Public Proprity ? Our loved Army Officers and  Police-Jawans Killed in the cities and NOT on the Boarders. Who is killing Police-Jawans in the cities and if the Jawans are to be killed by civilens !

Have you ever heared a word on these matters from any Leader ? here, again,  Govt. is made responsible for platting Stones and killing Jawans Vege.Prices? Petrol Prices etc.

So, my dears, IF you want to make Rome..... ? Bring Romans first.. The Rome shall follow... No one is having love for the Nation first If Games are organized in other developing Nations , WHY and who are making Games -Shame for our Nation ? Why not remove them from this Nation to hold the head high.

If, such handful trators are shot in public and system is operated only then we may get the fresh and Clean blood otherwise, we have to live like deaf and dump only.

JEET KUMAR

CWG AND CORRUPTION

Apropose of Mr K.K. Ghei's comments, we all wish that the Games should be held without any problem, as it is a matter of our national pride. However, is there any honest engineer or official who should not fear???
