Issues of Priyadarshini Vihar

Dear Vohra ji,

Mr Balu's suggestion is excellent.  To start with,  an off the head wish list for our colony,  Priyadarshini Vihar is:

1.     Stray/street dogs problem is very serious; every day they bite some one or the other.  Guests are scared of coming to the colony. Our suggestion is that the RESIDENTS SHOULD NOT/NOT FEED THEM.  If the dogs don't find anything to eat, they will slowly
        move away.

2.     Storm  water drains are always full and stinking, and breed mosquitoes.  Despite repeated requests to the area Councillor and the sanitation  staff, with one excuse or the other, the drains are full and stinking as it is.

3.     Parking problem, partially due to excess number of cars per family.  If a family has more than two cars, they should be heavily taxed. Generally, people who have built 4-storied buildings with stilt parking, still park their cars outside due to more number of cars.

4.     Mass building activity by builders in almost every colony should be restricted.  They open flout building bye laws, e.g. in many cases, parking space is being used for other commercial purposes - no check from EDMC.  RWA should have some legal authority to restrict such activities.

5.     Our more than 10 years old RWA does not have a functional office space.  We operate from the residence of the President or the General Secretary and keep changing with the new incumbents.  A proper office space should be provided to RWAs to enable them to operate with more freedom and convenience.

6.     MCD guidelines for installation of security gates, hold the RWA office bearers responsible for keeping guards to man the gates at their own cost, and also hold them responsible for any mishap due to malfunctioning of gates, etc.   Only source of income for RWAs is subscription by residents; many of whom do not pay.  RWA should be empowered to force the residents/members to pay regularly.

That's all for the time being.

Issues of 'Anand Vihar' residential colony

As far as 'Anand Vihar' residential colony is concerned I would like to highlight the following perennial problems in nutshell being faced by us over a period of time paying little attention by the authorities concerned and demand remedial action expeditiously:-
1. Demolition of unused overhead water tank endangering the life and property of residents in and around.
2. Removal encroachments all over the colony including kitchen gardens paving way for parking of vehicles and smooth mobility or residents.
3. Thorough cleaning of storm water drains and punching of the concrete base to facilitate seeping of water, as a measure of water harvesting as well.
4. Attention to colonies parks, nursery plots and green belts by MCD/DDA on a time bound manner and carrying out the works needed.
5. Connection of 80 ft. road right from Srestha Vihar to Karkarduma jn. through the present DDA land, as already planned, to ease traffic on 100 ft. -Bhartendu Harish Chander Marg towards Yamuna Sports Complex.
6. Laying of a pucca road over the restored green belt area starting from Master Som Nath Marg to the 80 ft. road adjacent to the present Vivekanand School and beyond to connect it to Anand Vihar ISBT.
7. Improve the infrastructural conditions in the green belt of DDA facing the railway line on the Anand Vihar side.
8. Improve the railway land area weeding out all mush rood growth of wild plants and lighting the entire area from the safety and security view points.
9. Improve the condition of service lanes inside the colony.
10. Handing over the Community Hall to the local Society for its operation and maintenance, which is at present lying idle!
11. Make the nursery plots and tot-lots inside the colony fit enough for parking purposes.
12. Provision of 'bus shelters' on the 100 ft. road opp. to the main gate of Anand Vihar (near Gurdwara) and adjacent to Jagriti Enclave.
13. Provision of a Metro shuttle service between Karkarduma Metro Station and neighboring colonies for the benefit of commuters.
14. Removal of malba etc. lying all over the colony left over by builders.

With regards,
TK Balu/Anand Vihar

Everything cant justbe left to Babus

Everything  cant justbe left to Babus and their Aakka. Residents are Majority stake Holders and Sufferers in making Delhi “ Meri Shaan” OR” Shahar aaja Lele Meri Jaan”,and they need to take corrective initiatives in their respective colonies.

Slow traffic causes increased pollution

Slow traffic causes increased pollution.Deliberately the traffic signals are mismanaged to slow the traffic.Deliberately the bottle necks are not managed properly.Deliberately no efforts are made to prevent stagnation of traffic. Why?More traffic jams --more sanction of traffic personnel--more manpower not to smoothen traffic but to stop vehicles to threaten to challan.

Vehicles which meet accident or are damaged in night are removed with cranes at the peak of morning hour to create massive traffic jams.DTC damaged buses stay on road for hours. There are no efforts to hasten the clearence.

Problems every where BUT none to listen ?

Tagged as the most polluted city of the world, with falling ratio of greenery, with severe water logging during rains but with no appropriate quantity of water to drink in summers, with high power shortages, with rising population of humans, monkeys, stray dogs & vehicles, with no suitable parking anywhere and with massive traffic jams all over.

Yes ! I am talking about our own city - Meri Delhi Meri Shaan.

A thunder storm of 92 KMPH has disrupted everything, with no visibility of any Disaster management anywhere, even though we are in the seismic zone 4.

Hon'ble LG is really working hard BUT has no time to meet the residents.

Central Pollution Control Board is not even willing to answer the simple question that, " Is Delhi on the verge of a Respiratory / Cancerous disaster ?

DERC calls for Public suggestions as well invites for Public Hearing but with deaf years as hue & cry of general public remains unheard & power tariff is bound to move upwards whereas the power distributors don't come under RTI or CAG.

DJB is unable to produce even that quantity of drinking water that it produced 10 years ago ( at some of its plants ) but 60% sewerage charges added in the bills with rising tariffs, makes it a profitable venture.

Yamuna - the lifeline of the city has been converted into a drain with no drop of fresh water.

Six cases of Rape & 12 cases of molestation have been registered in the city, daily, in the first four months of 2014.

The rising population of humans & vehicles has caused severe traffic jams every where but leaders with Red beacon lights in VIP areas are busy elsewhere, even though the city has been declared by WHO as the most polluted city of the world & is on the verge of a respiratory / cancerous disaster.

Problems every where but none to listen.

None of the political outfits are able to form the Govt, but can't understand that why the Elections are not being called for in Delhi with immediate effect so that a popular elected Govt for the city could come into existence ?

Your comments please.

Action to be taken by the present (new) govt !

Dear Mr. Vohra ji,

You always make pioneer efforts in various fields and in this context I would like to suggest that why not we seek suggestions/recommendations from our associates on the action to be taken by the present (new) govt. in various spheres which will make their respective colonies and surroundings an enviable one! Received suggestions etc. may be collated and presented by you in a proper format to the present Govt. or even route it through our Hon'ble Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, whom you may be knowing intimately! If you agree, I will make an attempt and send it to you from my side what is required to be done - say a wish list - in respect of our colony!

Awaiting your confirmation and with best regards and wishes,

TK Balu/Anand Vihar

Parking Problem ?

and also the dumped vehicles must be removed early from the Parking lot.  It will create space for more vehicles to park comfortably.  These are a few suggestions to be implemented as soon as possible in easing a bit of the parking problems.  Family should also be restricted in keeping more than one vehicle in a flat.

Parking Problem ?

And for existing MULTIPLE Carsin OneFamily: Ultimatum to SALEoneCar..KeepOne Vehicle Per Family. Use CarPooling. Pedestal REFORMS should be done to facilitate BICYCLE usage. RWAs must promote BICYLE usage in respective localities for local shopping upto 3-4kms.
Thanks!
