Property Tax Rates Up This Year

It's taxing time for property owners. Since the rate of tax for different categories has been revised, Delhiites will have to pay more from this financial year. However, no major amendments have been made in the property tax forms, according to senior MCD officials.

With June 30 being the last date to avail the 15% rebate on property tax, people can pay tax either online or submit their forms in the 12 MCD zonal offices.

As per the revised rates, colonies falling under category A and B will now have pay 12% property tax. The categories from C to H will see a rise of 1% from the previous rate 10% to 11% for categories C and E and from 6% to 7% for properties under category F to H.

For commercial properties like multiplexes, big shops, etc, there has been an increase of 10%. The property tax rate for multiplexes, petrol pumps etc has been increased from 10% to 20%. The rate for commercial properties falling under A and B categories has been increased from 10% to 15% and from 10% to 12% for categories C to E. There is no change in the tax rate for categories F, G and H.

Press and information director, Deep Mathur, said: ``We have not created any new categories in the property tax forms. It is more or less the same like before. The only change is that we have added a section called the special commercial category under which multiplexes, petrol pumps, etc need to pay more tax. Under this section there is also the general commercial category which includes power distribution companies, etc.''

Rains and storage capacity

Plenty of water in rainy season flows down stream in Yamuna .
Why this water cannot be stored baffles me.
Delhi is water starved city and we depend on generosity of neighboring states.
Expended on storage and water harvesting. Is worth while and as important as common wealth games.
WATER LEVEL is foxing down every year.
Why not to charge our earth in parks and other goby buildings inclu, ding schools and. Colleges.

Rally at Dwarka

Miracle

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet

She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three times, even. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.

Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug S tore with the big red Indian Chief sign above the doo r .

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

"And what do you want?" the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages," he said without waiting for a reply to his question.

"Well, I want to talk to you about my brother," Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. "He's really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle."

"I beg your pardon?" said the pharmacist

"His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?"

"We don't sell mira cles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help you ," the pharmacist said, softening a little.

"Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs."

The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, "What kind of a miracle does your brother need?"

"I don't know," Tess replied with her eyes welling up. I just know he's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money."

"How much do you have?" asked the man from Chicago

"One dollar and eleven cents," Tess answered barely audibly.

"And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to."

"Well, what a coincidence," smiled the man. "A dollar and eleven cents---the exact price of a miracle for little brothers."

He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you need."
That well dressed man
was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was comp leted free of charge and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

"That surgery, her Mom whispered, was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?"

Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost...one dollar and eleven cents....plus the faith of a little child.

In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.

A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law. I know you'll keep the ball moving!

Here it goes. Throw it back to someone who means something to you!

A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end. It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends. But the treasure inside for you to see is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.

Today I pass the friendship ball to you.

Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you.

MY OATH TO YOU..

When you are sad.....I will dry your tears.

When you are scared.....I will comfort your fears.
When you are worried.....I will give you hope.

When you are confused.....I will help you cope.

And when you are lost....And can't see the light, I shall be your beacon.....Shining ever so bright.

This is my oath.....I pledge till the end.

Why you may ask? .....Beca use you're my friend.

Signed: GOD

CHAIRMAN PGC hearing on 16th june 2010 regarding 15ft public passage encroachment

The matter regarding public passage of madhuvan new delhi blockage and merger has been pending since september 2005.
As Vice Chairman DDA and Commissioner MCD chose not to respond or reply our society letters and bhagidari meetings also failed to get even a response from MCD and DDA, I brought this to the notice of our Area Councillor as well as MLA.
Sh.Naseeb Singh our MLA wrote to Lt.Governor of delhi, Chairman Public Grievances Commission and also Monitoring Subcommittee appointed by Supreme court of India.
Chairman PGC held a hearing on this case on 16th june2010 and orders were issued on 23rd june 2010.
Extracts from orders are reproduced for your kind perusal.
Complainant Sh.K.K.GHEI A-78 MADHUVAN DELHI 110092
RESPONDENT..............DEPUTY COMMISSIONER (SHAHADARA SOUTH ZONE MCD
NEXT HEARING .....ON 14/07/2010
Direction of the PGC
Attention of Additional Commisioner( HQ) MCD is drawn to the absence of the concerned officials from the Shahadara South Zone,MCD.We need to implead the Director, Directororate of Education, GNCT of Delhi.
The contention of complainant,MCD and DDA are at variance with each other.
We need to determine the factual position.
The position on the ground too should be assessed under intimation to PGC in the next hearing.
The next hearing is scheduled on 14th july 2010 at 11am.
The above indicates that MCD and DDA are not responding to even hearings conducted by MEMBER PGC and now chairman PGC.
This could have been easily clarified if Site inspection of DDA officers AND SDM Preet VIHAR had recorded what existed at site and what is provided in LAY OUT PLAN OF PREET NAGAR CHBS(now known as preet vihar).
The sublease of school plot known as UNIVERSAL PUBLIC SCHOOL will also clear the status of our 15 ft road.
in whose favour school plot was subleased, purpose of subleas( it is a primary school but now land use is entirely different) and conditions of sublease.
SINCE THIS SERVICE LANE IS WITHIN MADHUVAN AND ON EASTERN SIDE OF HOUSE NO 68 TO 77, the sublease and free hold records were studied. The location of plot clearly mentions 15 ft road beyond which plot of PREET NAGAR CHBS is located.
ALL SUCH RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE WITH DDA and MCD.
Let us see what happens in next hearing.

Amul Milk Costlier By Rs. 2 Litre Likely Soon

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing federation Ltd (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under Amul brand, is likely to increase full cream milk price in national capital region by Rs 2 a litre.

Currently, GCMMF charges Rs 30 per litre for full cream milk in and around Delhi market. According to sources in the apex milk marketing body, the hike has been necessitated by soaring milk procurement, processing and transportation costs.

GCMMF supplies close to 11 lakh litres of full cream milk in NCR markets.

GCMMF's constituents Dudhsagar dairy in Mehsana district and Sabar dairy in Sabarkantha district in North Gujarat supply over a million litre milk to cater to the NCR market. Earlier, Delhi market witnessed two price hikes in July 2009 and January 2010 from Rs 26 to Rs 30 per litre today.

GCMMF caters Amul milk to the key markets like Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata where it is charging Rs 34 per litre for full cream milk compared to Rs 28 in Gujarat and Rs 30 in NCR.

"The hike is imminent for Delhi market considering the soaring costs for procurement, transportation and processing of the milk. Transporting milk from Mehsana and Sabarkantha in Gujarat to Delhi involves significant transportation costs," a senior official in the federation said.
