Mis-behavior by the staff of DTC Low floor Bus

Mis-behavior by the staff of DTC Low floor Bus.While travelling in Low Floor Bus No. DL-IP 7638 from Ashok Vihar to Shalimar Bagh Route No. 166 at 12.15 hrs.  The Conductor of the Bus a young-man directed the Driver to divert the Bus to Pitampura side, before touching the terminal of Buses at Shalimar Bagh at 12.35 hrs..  When he was asked the reasons regarding diverting the Bus short of destination, when 50% Bus is occupied, the Conductor and the driver misbehaved and hurled shameful abusive language with threatening to assault in the Bus.  They both were informed that I am Senior Citizens of 78 years, they further increased the tone of their abusive language in presence of the passengers sitting in the Bus.  Such behavior is in-tolerable.  During the route from Ashok Vihar to Shalimar Bagh, Driver was hurling shameful abusive language on the passengers and the drivers of other vehicles on the road without considering that the girls and women too are travelling in the Bus.The Conductor was so arrogant and stated that he has no senior citizens in his family and asserted that he always misbehaves with the older persons.  The behavior of both Driver and particularly the CONDUCTOR, who refused to divulge with their names is a blot on the working of the DTC Buses and is illegal, objectionable and intolerable.  The staff dealing with Public needs to be well educated in behaving with the general Public particularly they should behave decently with Senior Citizens and Lady passengers.  The abusive language is so offensive that could not be explained in the complaint.  A thorough inquiry may be ordered and investigate the matter.  Your early reply will definitely help in assuaging the injury caused mentally to me.

Now, DTC Launching A New Bus Express Service Direct To Office

Delhi Transport Corporation is launching a new Express Service to ferry office-goers from Monday. These buses air conditioned and non air-conditioned will ply on 72 routes. These routes will connect areas like Connaught Place, CGO Complex, Nehru Place, AIIMS, ISBT and ITO, etc where most of the government as well as private offices are located with residential areas like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Malviya Nagar and Mayur Vihar Phase-III.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said that special arrangements would be made to ensure success of the Express Service, which is also expected to help in lessening the number of private vehicles on city roads. "Use of private vehicles by office-going people in the morning and evening hours causes huge jams. When people drive their own cars, there are more vehicles on the roads and this lead to more environmental pollution. The Express Service is aimed at curbing this problem," said Dikshit, adding that the Express Service will start from Monday.

The chief minister flagged off 200 new low-floor buses from India Gate on Sunday. Of these, 54 AC and 90 non-AC buses will be used for the Express Service and the rest will run on regular routes.
According to Naresh Kumar, managing director of DTC, the fare on express routes falling in the city will be Rs 20 for non-AC buses and Rs 30 for AC buses. For NCR routes, the inter-state fare charging pattern will be followed, he added.

These buses will not ply on weekends and gazetted holidays. It has been decided that express bus services will pickup passengers from each stop for the first four kilometres and after that they will run non-stop. However, the driver will alight passengers on their request at authorized stands, said Kumar.

shortage of DTC bus service on route 611 and 398

We would like to draw your attention that on route Nos.611 & 398 there is acute shortage of service from Mayur Vihar Phase III to Dhaula Kuan, particularly in the morning hours between 6 AM and 10 AM.
We have registered many complaints with DTC complaint cell, PG cell for Chief Minister & Aapki Sunwai seeking to sort out this problem of the common man in the area who has no other means of transport. This shortage has taken crippling proportion in the past several months.
It is very surprising that buses coming from East Vinod Nagar Depot or elsewhere are not meant for these routes in the morning hours. On the other hand, there are plenty of buses ply on route no.211 (Phase-3 to Mori gate)& 493 from Mayur Vihar to Nehru Place .
We are fed up commuters who are forced to wait 1-2 hours for DTC services, and finally depend on three-wheelers and private buses to reach our offices. After increase in the bus fare it has become unviable to do the break journey as it will rob our pockets irreparably. We will end up spending Rs 25-35 instead of Rs.15 for the break journey. Now, we the public are preparing to take the matter to the media so that everybody understands the situation we are in.
The DTC Time Keeper posted at the bus stand in Mayur Vihar Phase III is on leave most of the days. When available he is most uncooperative and not even willing to listen genuine hardship faced by poor commuters of the area.
It is our, Mayur Vihar phase-3 resident’s, earnest request to you to kindly look into the matter personally and do the needful and get us sufficient buses in these routes at least in the morning hours (6 am to 10 am) for the service class.
We doubt that due to the threatening from the private/blueline bus operators, DTC drivers are not willing to take this route from the Vinod nagar depot. It may also be possible that the private/blueline operators are used to pay bribe to the depot managers for not to issue any bus in these routes during the morning hours.

DTC has been least concerned about the genuine grievances

DTC has been least concerned about the genuine grievances relating to public transport requirements of residents. Over 20 colonies which are over sixty years' old located at Jail Road have time and again been requesting DTC to provide direct bus service to important destinations including Railways Stations, Central Secretariat, Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Delhi Sectt. It is the political pressure that works at DTC headquarters. No matter howsoever genuine your problems may be, DTC will give vague excuses for not providing direct bus service to colonies very much needing this service.

diversion of new DTC routes in lieu of closed one running via Vishwas Nagar, East Delhi

SOUTH VISHWAS NAGAR WELFARE ASSOCIATION, Regd office : 10/117, Patel street, CBD Vishwas nagar, New Delhi - 110032, Registered under S R Act xxi of 1860, Member Bhagidari Cell of Delhi Government.

S.No. svnwa/10/004 Date: 03-02-2010

To

Sh Arvinder Singh Lovely

Minister of Education & Transport

Govt of NCT of Delhi

Sub: For diversion of new DTC routes in lieu of closed one running via Vishwas Nagar, East Delhi

Sir,

The Delhi Transport Corporation had been running about a dozen routes via Vishwas Nagar and touching Vishwas Nagar at various points like Jhilmil DDA Flats and Karkardooma Courts for last many decades. But during last two years DTC has completely withdrawn Route No. 31, 92, 216, 225, 244, 312, 336, 354, 358, 362, RL31, 032 (Night Service).

Presently only one route no. 340 is touching Vishwas Nagar at Jhilmil DDA Flats and it is highly inadequate for the densely populated colonies of Vishwas Nagar, Jhilmil, Surajmal Vihar, Vivek Vihar Phase-II, Karkardooma Courts and various institutions /Govt. offices at Vishwas Nagar Institutional Area (behind Karkardooma Courts), Etc.

It is amazing to know that Anand Vihar ISBT is connected to far flung border areas of Delhi like Shahbad Dairy, Avantika, Mehrauli, Dwarka, Badarpur, Nangloi, etc but ISBT is not connected to Vishwas Nagar and around a dozen group of Vihars in it. Not a single bus route passes through or touches Vishwas Nagar connecting it to Anand Vihar ISBT.

It is therefore requested that appropriate orders may kindly be passed to divert some of the existing routes like 73, 85, 92, 165, 202, 221, 222, 236, 313, 333, 469, 472, 473, 534, 740, 939, 971 via Jhilmil DDA Flats, Vivek Vihar Police Station, Karkardooma Courts touching Vishwas Nagar and other adjoining Vihars, Colonies and Institutional offices at Vishwas Nagar Institutional Area with immediate effect.

Thanking You

Improvement in Bus Service for the Commuters of Hari Nagar

URGENT PLEASE
Reminder 1st : January 25, 2010

The Chairman/Managing Director
Delhi Transport Corporation
Delhi Parivahnalaya, IP Estate
NEW DELHI-110002

Sub. : Improvement in Bus Service for the Commuters of Hari Nagar

Dear Sir,

A very large number of residents of G Block, Shiv Nagar, Virender Nagar, Asha Park, Usha Park, Fateh Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Delhi Govt. flats at Tihar Jail Complex, BF block and many blocks of DDA flats, are being denied direct bus service to famous destinations like Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Hanuman Mandir, RML, CP, ITO, Laxmibai Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Anand Vihar Bus Terminus and New/Old Delhi Railway Stations.

There used to be a few routes originating from Hari Nagar Depots, which have been discontinued, and other routes have not replaced these routes. There are three DTC depots at Hari Nagar but not a single route originates from this very important place. Every day the residents of above mentioned colonies learn about low floor buses being deployed on many routes in West Delhi but there is no effort as yet to introduce these low floor buses on routes covering these colonies.

In the past, the ACP, Traffic(West) had pointed to your office as also to Delhi Govt’s Transport Department about the prevailing congestion at Hari Nagar Clock Tower from where route numbers 73 and 108 are originating. To overcome this problem, it was also suggested that both these routes could be extended to Hari Nagar Depots because of sufficient parking place in front of the three bus depots. But this proposal is yet to see light of the day. In the recent past, some low floor buses have been deployed on route 73 but residents of our areas have to first reach this place from their respective colonies to avail themselves of this service because the distance is not walkable.

You are requested to kindly depute your experts to verify the above stated facts and report back to you the dire need for extension of routes 73 and 108 and also to introduce new routes from Hari Nagar Depots for important destinations.

Thanking you and hoping to have immediate action on residents’ grievances,

Yours truly,
