Dear Mr. Vohra ji,

It is a pity that the MCD engineers permit construction of illegal floors by taking bribe and as and when they are identified by the same engineers or their colleagues when they get a 'danda' from the top, they start demolishing them! It is strange and debatable. Why not ask the builder to disclose how much money he has paid illegally to the MCD officials and disclose their names and they should be removed from service instantaneously and go into the matter later! This will only will have salutary effect. It is shocking that even in our democracy we always require a 'danda' from the top to act upon. What difference it makes when we were under alien rule and now in our own Raj!

In this context we have brought to notice the 'builders menace' taking place in Anand Vihar to the DC and other officials in all our communications and taken up the matter with the FIEIIGHS (Federation) as well but no response at all. But one fine morning any mishap happens, the authorities will wake up and demonstrate their action for some time and then go in slumber. Is there no rule of law or ethics for all this. All this happens only because of 'corruption to the core' right from the bottom level which has to be arrested by all means in Govt.'s command. NOW AT LEAST ARISE, AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL ALL THE ILLEGAL BUILDINGS ARE ERACED TO THE GROUND; BUILDERS AND OFFICIALS CONCERNED PUT BEHIND BARS, PENDING ENQUIRIES, AND PUBLISH THEIR PHOTOS ETC TO LET THE PUBLIC KNOW! CAN WE DO IT?

Dear Mr. Vohra ji,

Let's ponder over it. How to overcome the situation. There are many more such things which are happening and we read them in newspapers/tv channels and shed 'artificial' or natural tears and feel helpless. Can't we collide our mind and come to a conclusion which we may focus to Govt. But one thing all these raise because we wish to make money quickly - people don't fear or feel 'guilt' which lead to 'greed'! One thing is certain that such things will not happen in our mahan bharat unless and until there is always a person or a group of persons to protect/shield you (the culprits). There is no 'fear' and there is no 'punishment'. People could overcome both with nefarious means and hence they become greedy and resort to all unlawful activities. What 'morality' cannot purchase 'money' can purchase.  We have come to this stage! Let's not look to God to save us but we have to look ourselves to save us. Otherwise, posterity will suffer and may resort to revolt. Should we proceed to this stage? FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND ACTION!

I found that a four storied building in laxmi nagar along vikas marg is being got vacated because it is in dangerous condition.

Your Chances Of Getting An Ambulance: 50%

Delhi government may have managed to save its ace by buying 31 ambulances before the Commonwealth Games 2010, but two-thirds of the fleet are still lying parked -and unused -on the lawns of Maulana Azad Medical College for the last two months.

Soon after the Games, 10 ambulances were handed over to the Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS), which provides ambulance service on call. But the rest of the ambuances, including 10 with basic life support and 11 with advanced life support facilities, are lying idle.

"This is criminal waste of pubic money, especially when CATS s unable to provide ambulances most of the time," said a doctor from a government hospital, wishing to remain anonymous.

Illegal Floors In 1500 Buildings At Lalita Park, After Survey, MCD Is All Set To Take Action Soon

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suddenly woken up to the problem of illegal construction in the city after the house collapse in Lalita Park around two weeks ago. The civic agency has identified around 1,500 buildings which have constructed illegal floors in the area and will soon initiate action against them.

Under the Master Plan-2021, the restriction for vertical growth in the city is 15 meter in most parts of the city. MCD stated that number of such buildings are likely to double in the coming weeks as the survey to identify such illegal construction is still ongoing in Laxmi Nagar and surrounding areas.

``We had initiated a survey to identify illegally built floors and rooms which had been constructed in violation of the Master Plan-2021 norms. Around 1,500 buildings have been identified so far and we will initiate action against them very soon. Since the survey is ongoing, the number of such buildings are likely to increase further in the coming days,'' said standing committee chairman, Yogender Chandolia.

He further stated that demolition would have to be initiated in all these cases. ``We cannot provide any sort of relief to people who have carried out such construction as it is in direct violation of the MPD-2021,'' added Chandolia.

Call 100 To Get A Drop Home

In a decision that would be welcomed by all, the Delhi Police have decided to drop any woman home if she is stranded on the road. All she has to do is call '100' for help. These and other decisions were taken on Friday by the Delhi Police to ensure safety of women in the Capital, two days after a 30-year-old BPO employee was abducted and raped by five men while she was returning home from work.

"If any woman is stranded, she is advised to call the PCR helpline. The van will drop her to her house," said Rajan Bhagat, Delhi Police spokesperson.

The police added that Station House Officers of localities where girls from the northeastern part of the country live in large numbers have also been directed to meet them and sensitise them about security on a regular basis.

"The police have also intensified patrolling and checking vulnerable roads at night," Bhagat said.

A senior police official said Special Commissioner (Crime) Ranjit Narayan will write to BPOs asking them to take necessary measures to ensure safety of their employees.

East Delhi RWAs Joint front

Dear Mr. Vohra,
I was immensely delighted and inspired when I got your phone call today when I was in the temple. Yes, it was God's sent message from you to take 'care and concern'!  This is what is called 'building up and fortifying fraternity & friendship for ever'!

Heartiest congratulations to all of us spearheaded by you for getting acclamation and appreciation for the work we are doing in the East Front for the welfare of all in East Delhi from our Hon'ble CM. Let's keep doing the service with smile to  attain greater height and soar above all!

It is high time that we consolidate all our 'common problems' together and focus to our Hon'ble CM, which I had highlighted from time to time!  As far as we are concerned i.e. Anand Vihar residential complex the 'builders' menace; carpetting of roads and service lanes, which are in a very bad shape; periodical cleaning of storm water drains with mechanism and sewarage; besides the most vital problem of 'of safety and security of residents and their belongings' which is causing concern and worry to all?

Hope you will take necessary action on the above and send a consolidated memoranda to Hon'ble CM and Hon'ble LG for looking into such matters for remedial action. You are fully aware that however much we maintain contact with officials at the lower level, nothing is achieved. More so with the elected representatives who do only lip service and extend help to only those who are closer to them! It is unfortunate but true!

With our deep regards and best wishes,

Property Prices May Crash As Loan Scam Hits Funding

Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee's direction to state-run lenders to prevent a recurrence of the loans-for-bribes scandal, and banks' decision to go for a critical appraisal of all real estate loans above Rs 50 crore may stall projects and drive developers to private funds.

Liquidity for the sector may dry up as bankers turn cautious in sanctioning fresh loans, forcing builders to cut prices to improve cash position, helping prospective buyers who have been holding on due to high prices.

DB Realty tumbled 10%, Indiabulls Real Estate lost 5.2%, DLF fell 3.8%, and Unitech declined 6% as a fund shortage threatens to derail their project execution, which had just started to show signs of recovery after the 2008 credit crisis.

The arrest of eight finance executives by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday on charges of taking bribes to sanction loans does not lead to a systemic risk since the amount involved is tiny, bankers and bureaucrats said. It is getting more attention than it deserves, they said.

From any village to Delhi 4 lane roads. Forever free power supply to more than 500 social projects. Every citizen can get monthly 2000/- for 60 yrs. No need of World Bank & IMF loan. Watch us in 'Janpath' programme on Delhi AajTak on Sunday

You can watch some of our members in the 'JANPATH' programme on Delhi Aaj Tak on Sunday at 6.00 pm to 7 pm. Mr Anil Vajpai raised the issue of unauthorised constructions in various areas. Er. K C Garg spoke about the Lalita Park incident. Mr Rajesh Agarwal & Mr B N Mahajan also raised related issues. Whereas Mr B S Vohra raised the issue of strictures of Supreme court about treatment of Delhiites by various civic agencies as PIGS which was widely aclaimed with the shouts of SHAME in the presence of representatives of various Civic Agencies.

MUST WATCH.

People treated as pigs: SC

Days after 70 people died after an illegal building collapsed in east Delhi's Laxmi Nagar, the Supreme Court (SC) said on Thursday that the Capital's civic bodies - the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) - treated Delhiites as 'pigs' and not as 'human beings'.

A special bench of Justices VS Sirpurkar, P Sathasivam and GS Singhvi lashed out at the civic agencies and added that the cost of a citizen's life in the Capital was cheaper than that of an animal.

"There is no difference between a human being and an animal in this city. Families of the dead in the recent incident have got Rs 2 lakh, while a bakra was sold for the same amount on Eid," the bench said.

The court expressed its concern after amicus curiae Ranjit Kumar drew its attention to the four-day-old incident.

The common man is a victim of the civic bodies' negligence, as encroachment and building collapse has become a routine affair, the court added.

RWAs make tenant registration a must

GURGAON: Following the phrase its better to be safe than sorry, many residential colonies in the Millenium City have made tenant verification mandatory.

While the RWAs of societies like South End Floors Block A and B, Todays Blossom and South City II have already made the process of registering a tenant compulsory, others like Vipul Greens and Vigyan Vihar are soon going to follow suit.

Several other colonies like Park View City I and those in Sector 14 have now recommended the verification process to house-owners. The DLF City RWA is also promoting the process by putting up the link of an online private agency that is engaged in verification on its website.

According to RWA officials, it is always wise for the landlords to check the antecedents of tenants before letting out their premises.

`Mumbai, Delhi Property Prices To Fall 15-20% By Year End'

Property prices in Mumbai and New Delhi are set to decline by almost 15 to 20 per cent in the next couple of months, according to a real estate consultancy.

"A correction is likely to happen in Mumbai and New Delhi property prices. We believe the fall could be in the range of 15 to 20 per cent in the next few months. However, property prices in the tier II and III cities have been stable and likely to increase over the years," Santosh Naik, Managing Director, Disha Direct, was quoted as saying in Emirates 24|7.

Godrej Properties managing director Milind Korde was also quoted recently in media that realty prices in Mumbai and Delhi were overheated, but prices were recovering in cities such as Bangalore and Pune since the fall in October 2008. Disha Direct, which has taken a brokerage license in Dubai, will be selling "affordable" properties, ranging from Rs 3 lakh onwards, to the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) based in the UAE.

Following the opening of the Dubai branch, the company will be soon expanding its reach to New York. Prasan Thakkar, business head - UAE Operations, Disha Direct, said the company was looking to enter other Gulf Cooperation Council countries as well.

Delhi Govt To Put Details Of Infra Projects On Website

In the backdrop of allegations of irregularities in CWG spendings, Delhi government today asked all concerned departments to put details of upcoming infrastructure projects on their websites to ensure transparency and accountability. Chairing a meeting of Expenditure Finance Committee, Walia said details of the projects approved by EFC should be put on public domain. The meeting approved two projects worth Rs 17.19 crore which will be implemented by PWD.

Walia later said EFC has approved Rs 7.36 crore for construction of a drain on both sides of Road No 63 in trans- Yamuna area. The project will be completed in 12 months. He said four roads in Rohini area will be upgraded with an estimated cost of Rs 9.83 crore. The combined length of roads is 5.67 km. Following allegations of financial bunglings, CAG and CVC are examining the expenditure incurred by Delhi government on CWG projects. According to official figures, various Delhi government agencies, including the Public Works Department, had spent over Rs 16,000 crore to enhance the city infrastructure ahead of the Games.
