Pollution Free Holika Dehan by Arth Project - IIT Delhi

 Respected Mr. Vohra,

Our team had approached you regarding use of Arth Logs in Holika Dehan, and you very kind to show your interest about the Idea. We feel delighted to have made a mark in this journey towards Pollution-free and well-managed India.

What is our Mission?

On average, every year, 16.4 million trees are cut down in India for the cause of cremation. Also every day 1.6 lac tonnes of cow dung is wasted and thrown into rivers causing water pollution.

Arth Logs made from waste cow dung saves 2 trees per cremation. We aim to provide more jobs in this sector by completely diversifying the way cremations are carried out. We aim to provide sustainable pathways to gaushalas so that they have a stable income source and the Gaushalas’s assets go to the best use. With innovation, passion, and vision all working in hand, we would make sure the drive towards a world where sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to deep-rooted problems exist and are accepted never loses its flame.

What Do We Do?

We function as the connecting link between Gaushalas and normal Consuming Public. We have Designed and Identified Products that can be made from Cow-Dung, like Clocks, Dhoops, Diyas, Sculptures and provided Gaushalas with machines to make the products and a platform to sell them, and brought direct Customers to them. We have associated with Madhubani Artisans from Bihar and provided them employment by giving them orders to decorate our clocks, sculptures.

We carried out a campaign during Diwali last year to sell Gaumaya Diyas and sold 5 Lakh Diyas. All our customers have provided us very comforting and positive feedback. This gave us a strong head start to carry this initiative further. We are carrying Holika Dehan Campaign this year to celebrate eco-friendly Holika Dehan all through Delhi-NCR.

It would be a great help to us if you can connect us with Presidents and secretaries of Societies in Delhi-NCR to connect with them and celebrate GREEN Holika Dehan in those societies.

Regards,

Team Arth

AAPASDARI - to resolve the RWA issues in the coming Budget

7th March 2021

Mr. Arvind Kejriwal,
CM Delhi

Subject: AAPASDARI - to resolve the RWA issues in the coming Budget

Dear Sir,

Please refer to our meeting a few months ago, at your office, when we had discussed the concept AAPASDARI, on the lines of BHAGIDARIThough you had appreciated the idea very much, nothing could be done due to the Lockdown allover.

As the Budget session has been announced by your Government from 8th March to 16th March, can we now expect Certain Funds for the RWAs under the AAPASDARI SCHEMEto be spent by the area SDMs, on the request of local RWAs, for certain local repair & maintenance issues?

Many more things can be added, as discussed earlier, and as below, in the AAPASDARI to boost & Empower the RWAs of Delhi, keeping in mind the forthcoming MCD Elections:

These funds can be used under AAPASDARI, for local Repair & maintenance issues as well as for helping the poor, Senior citizens, Ladies, for providing help during any medical emergency, for deploying Rainwater harvesting, plantation drives, etc., by SDM, on the request of local RWAs.

All these can also form a TEAM AAPSADARI DELHI, for any DISASTER MANAGEMENT as we are in the seismic zone 4.

RWAs & MTAs can become a part of this scheme by registering. They all can unite to work for the city as well as for the residents of Delhi, via a control room of AAPASDARI.

We have huge expectations from your Government in this Budget & request you to please introduce AAPASDARI between us.

With best regards,

B S Vohra

The 3 Farm Laws & its impact on your life ?

Farmers are under protest at the Borders of Delhi for the last over 2 months. The 3 Farm laws are the cause of concern as these are not acceptable to the Farmers. If you too think that you are not at all concerned, please go through the Amendments to the Essential Commodities Act as below, to understand its impact on your life:

In section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, after sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:—

‘(1A) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1),— (a) the supply of such foodstuffs, including cereals, pulses, potato, onions, edible oilseeds, and oils, as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify, may be regulated only under extraordinary circumstances which may include war, famine, extraordinary price rise and natural calamity of grave nature;

(b) any action on imposing stock limit shall be based on price rise and order for regulating stock limit of any agricultural produce may be issued under this Act only if there is— (i) hundred percent increase in the retail price of horticultural produce; or (ii) fifty percent increase in the retail price of non-perishable agricultural foodstuffs, over the price prevailing immediately preceding twelve months, or average retail price of the last five years, whichever is lower.

What does it mean?

(i) hundred percent increase in the retail price of horticultural produce?

(ii) fifty percent increase in the retail price of non-perishable agricultural foodstuffs?

What will be its impact on the prices of Foodstuff in India, be it Perishable or Non-Perishable?

Does it mean: if the Potato price last year was Rs. 20/- kg, Govt may come into action, only if Prices touch Rs 40/- kg this year (i.e. 100% of the last year's price or the average of last 5 years, whichever is lowest)?

Does it mean: if the Potato price this year was Rs. 40/- kg, Govt may come into action, only if Prices touch Rs 80/- kg next year (i.e. 100% of the last year's price or the average of last 5 years, whichever is lowest)?

and so on for the coming years.....

Must be given serious thought over the impact on the Prices of foodstuffs, including cereals, pulses, potato, onions, edible oilseeds, and oils, as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify.

We are not against our Government, but if you too think that such amendments may create severe financial issues for every common citizen of our country, please raise your voice.
