Parking charges or the EMI for the Parking space?

Don't know why..... but we are getting the impression..... that Delhi Government has not proposed the Parking charges for the city..... instead its the EMI for the Parking Space.....

At last, the Local Government looks serious about combating pollution in our city. Of course, it was the negligence and non-performance of its predecessors, which has lead to this alarming situation.  In spite of collecting all the taxes, they had not created the required infrastructure. Roads not widened. Parkings not constructed. Encroachment not removed. Potholes not repaired. Traffic cops and Traffic lights missing at almost all the inner stretches.  Public transport not compatible............

But it's quite shocking that a city with over 1,00,92,000 vehicles has the parking space for only 72000 vehicles and they now want us to pay the parking charges at the exorbitant rates, else our vehicle will be towed away as all the rest of the areas have already been declared as the illegal for parking.

Can you just calculate the Cost of parking at these proposed rates for the Road Side Parking for the Non-Peak, & Non-GRAP period?

1. Base Fare Rs 10 for Car & Rs 5 for a bike.
2. These rates will be double for the Street Side Parking i.e. Rs 20 for a Car & Rs 10 for a bike.
3. For the main market areas, this will be multiplied by 3 such as Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, etc.
4. So the Price for the First hour for a Car will be Rs 60 & for a Bike Rs 30.
5. for the 2nd and 3rd hours, rates will be base x 1.5 times, i.e. Rs. 10x2x3x1.5   =  Rs 90 per hour for a car and Rs 45 for a bike.
6. for the 4th and 5th hour, rates will be base x 1.75 times, i.e. Rs. 10x2x3x1.75 =  Rs. 105 per hour for a Car & Rs 52.5 per hour for a bike.
7. for the 6th to 10th hours, rates will be base x 2 times, i.e. Rs. 10x2x3x2 =  Rs. 120 per hour for a Car & Rs 60 per hour for a Bike.
8. RATES TO BE DOUBLE FOR THE PEAK HOURS.
9. RATES TO BE 3 to 4 TIMES FOR GRAP PERIOD.

Don't know why..... but we are getting the impression..... that Delhi Government has not proposed the Parking charges for the city..... instead its the EMI for the Parking Space.....

So better try to compare the above parking charges with the cost of OLA / UBER for that specific ride, after adding the cost of Petrol/ Diesel & Depreciation charges of your own car/ bike and take a suitable decision.

You can also compare the cost of parking with the Toe Away charges, maybe that will be a cheaper option if you have to park for a longer duration. But in that case, you must have all the required documents handy else there are so many penalties too.

You can also check the possibility with the Delhi Government in case it can announce that all the parking charges will now onwards be paid by the Delhi Government as it gets pleasure by distributing the freebies.

We can also go to the banks for checking the viability of the Parking Charges Loan, if available.

No, we are not kidding.

We are very serious about this issue. We are more than willing to come forward to combat the Pollution but not at this Loot.

Why don't they declare all these stretches as the No Parking Zones, except for the Emergency vehicles, so that no one even thinks of moving in own car?

Why don't they attach every vehicle with the Pan & Aadhar so that there are no more unwanted vehicles on the roads?

Why don't they announce the norms of One Family one Car to ease the situation?

Why don't they announce a Congestion charge of any specific amount for entering any such locations, so that people just avoid coming by own transport, except in emergencies?

We must also consider the second phase of this parking policy where they will start collecting parking charges from the residents for parking their own cars outside their own homes. With a base price of Rs 10 per hour, it comes to Rs 240 per 24 hours, without adding the Peak & the GRAP charges.

Just calculate your parking charges for a day at the above rates. Add the Peak Charges & the GRAP impact in it. Multiply it with 30 days of a month. And the outcome will be much higher than even the EMI of your vehicle.

Just that's the reason..... we are getting the impression..... that Delhi Government has not proposed the Parking charges for the city..... instead its the EMI for the Parking Space.....

Think again & raise your voice, before its too late.

India Slips To 102nd Rank In Global Hunger Report 2019, Behind Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh

India trails at a miserable 102nd among 117 countries in the 2019 Global Hunger Index (GHI) released on October 15.
The rank is significant because the country seems to have regressed from its 95th rank in 2010 and stands way below its neighbors and BRICS' peers.
Alarmingly, India was the worst performer when it came to child wasting (age appropriate weight), clocking a dismal 20.8 percent. Among infants aged 6-23 months, merely 9.6 percent received the 'minimum acceptable diet'. The child stunting rate at 37.9 percent, was also termed 'very high'.
India's neighbors, Sri Lanka (66), Myanmar (69), Nepal (73), Bangladesh (88) and Pakistan (94) fared better on the annual index, which calculates the levels of hunger using four indicators – undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child mortality.

How they can make the entire city, a 'No Parking Zone' - Part 1

The new Parking Policy for Delhi has been notified by the Delhi Government. Shockingly, it has added certain clauses that were not there in the draft notification. It has declared the entire City as the 'No Parking Zone', except the notified places. It says, "Any area or spot that is not notified and physically demarcated as a parking site/spots shall automatically be considered a 'No Parking Zoneand relevant penalties shall be applicable".

It further states that, "All illegally parked vehicles, including those parked in No Parking Zones, and overstaying in authorised parking areas, shall be seized and removed and penalty shall be charged under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act 1988.

Sounds absolutely shocking as Delhi has 1,00,93,470 number of Registered vehicles in the city, while the actual & notified available parking is just for the 72,423 ECS. Does it mean that for the rest of the vehicles, there is no parking available in the city & as the entire city has been declared as the No Parking Zone, if these 1,00,21,047 number of vehicles move out, they will definitely be parking or stopping on the No parking Zone, and as per the new notified parking policy, it is illegal & hence liable for the penalties.

The penalty for this illegal parking has been fixed at the rate of Rs 1/- per kg, for the total weight of the vehicle parked illegally, as per the notified policy. In such a case if your Car weighs 1000 kg, you have to pay a penalty of Rs. 1,000/-.

Shockingly, they have collected all kind of Taxes on the sale of 1,00,93,470 number of vehicles. They have collected Road Tax for this number of vehicles. They have collected Insurance charges for this number of vehicles. They have collected Income Tax from the Buyers as well as sellers of all such vehicles. But they have created the infrastructure, only for the parking of 72,423 ECS in the city.

Since a long time, we have been demanding to introduce the policy of ONE FAMILY ONE CAR. We have been asking to attach the Vehicles with the Pan card & the Aadhar card. We have been asking to ask for the proof of parking from all the vehicles in the city, be it a new one or a second hand.

The issue is that if they have not planned properly, if they have not done their duty in a responsible manner, how they can now declare the entire city as a No Parking Zone for the harassment of the residents, and that too with an eye on the hefty collections that can be made using this notification, by way of huge penalties?

Comments:

Rajiv Kakria says -What Mr. Vohra says is correct, allow me to add to the list...... We have been dead against Mixed land Use, increasing FAR and further densification of Delhi..... The Government has been collecting Conversion charges and one time Parking for additional FAR but has failed to create requisite Parking lots...... Whare has the money gone....... WHY SHOULD CITIZENS PAY FOR GOVERNMENT'S INCOMPETENCE...... Personal Vehicles are not a Luxury, where is the Safe, Secure, Sure and non Feecing Public Transport???.....

Neha Sood Puri says -And they haven't stopped selling more vehicles. There is no junkyard for old vehicles that litter our colonies and have become homes for stray dogs and a dumping area.

B S VOHRA says -They wont stop selling more n more vehicles as they are getting huge revenue. Moreover they have now an eye on the parking - to make it a yet another huge source of income.

Yashpal says -Yadi Govt. ney as per required , Sasti , suvidhajanak public transport provide karai hoti to aaj itney vaahan roads per nahi hote.

Sachin Rastogi says -Truly agreed, why we always suffer with your own mistakes.

Dr Dhani Ram says - True.

R N Gupta says - The above content is self explanatory.

B S Vohra says - True. Its shocking that while they dont wanna perform the duties for which they were elected, they just keep on finding the opportunities for more n more revenue even if the aam aadmi has to suffer.
