Delhi Ka Dabang kaun : Aajtak

MUST VIEW :
Delhi ka Dabang programme on : AAJTAK : regarding MCD elections in Delhi : B S Vohra from East Delhi RWAs Joint Front ( A Federation of RWAs) & CEO of www.RWABHagidari.blogspot.in , was also present there with his as usual querries / objections.

Delhi - Come Out and Vote ..... Do not turn your Majority into a Minority

Was it the Chicken or the Egg that came first ...... similarly was it the Voter who stopped voting or the Political parties started fielding the wrong candidates. On introspection it seems, it was the antipathy of the posh colony Voters in not casting the vote that made Parties, choose candidates that could woo the gullible voters with money and muscle.

Is it, that the Voters of plotted colonies got disillusioned at the choice of candidates or was it really one more off day, for a family outing in a stressed out professional world. It’s time we the people made a Course Correction ...... Political parties respect numbers and if we want them to listen to us again then WE MUST FIRST SHOW UP AT THE POLLING BOOTH.

Let me illustrate a case study to drive home my point ...... GK-I constituency has a very diverse demographic profile ..... compare just two largest blocks of votes ie Jamrudpur and only GK-I put together have 23,000 voters. Every election the calculations are .... he who takes Jamrudpur WINS. Many people from GK-I shirk from fighting the elections, as they have been conditioned into believing that come what may Jamrudpur decides.

My study of polling percentage suggests that people in GK voted .... 27% last elections ..... whereas Jamrudpur votes 80% en-block ensuring a win for their candidate. Now the surprise, GK has 16,000 votes and Jamrudpur has 7,000 votes (original inhabitants being just 2000, with some 5000 of them being Migrants, with little stake in the city) ..... GK’s 27% divided turns a vast majority into a Minority. Add to that the 15,000 odd votes of Kailash, EoK, Hemkunt, Pamposh, GK Enclave, Mount Kailash/Hills etc ..... the sleeping giant is just not aware of its strength .... the same should hold true for other colonies like Def. Col. Vasant Vihar, Safdarjung, Green Park etc.

DELHI - Come Out and Vote ....... is the clarion call of the RWAs to the voters .... Flavour of Art Foundation has brought together top artists to Paint Giant 70 feet Banners, Posters, Songs to encourage the voter to come out and vote. Shield (NGO) brought children with a song on their lips ..... Please vote for our Future.

You can view all the pictures and posters of the various events on www.flavourofart.orgCome on Delhi SHOW YOUR TRUE STRENGHT ..... next elections, you will decide how Delhi should be Governed ..... be a part of the Solution, not the Problem.

Delhi Come Out and Vote ....... RWAs awarness campaign is nearing conclusion and we are pleased to inform that, Shri Rakesh Mehta has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest of the Grand Finale to Flag Off .... RUN TO VOTE ..... an event organised at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on 13th April 2012 8.00 am. Please be there in large numbers to make this event a grand success.

Janpath at Krishna Nagar : Delhi AajTak

On 10th April, Delhi Aajtak aired its famous programme, " JANPATH", live from Krishna nagar. Dr Harshvardhan as well Naseeb singh ji were on the Dias. The contesting candidates invited for this programme included many prominent faces of East Delhi.

This programme of Delhi Aajtak is so popular that it was all RUSH, RUSH & RUSH everywhere but the anchor Parteek Trivedi showed his guts to tackle the over enthusiastic crowd shouting slogans, favouring their candidates. We are thankful to Delhi Aajtak as well Mr Parteek Trivedi for being so close to the RWAs of Delhi. We can proudly say that Delhi Aajtak has now become a "Voice of Delhi".

We are also thankful to Aajtak as it has done a great job by giving a voice, a platform to the RWAs. On behalf of our EAST DELHI RWAs JOINT FRONT as well on behalf of the entire RWA community of Delhi, we appreciate these efforts of AAJTAK and request it to continue it more vigorously for the betterment of Delhi.

Thanks again to AAJTAK & DELHI AAJTAK,

B S Vohra

Vote Delhi Vote

East Delhi RWAs Joint Front (A Federation of RWAs), organised an event on 8th April, to generate awareness amongst residents of Delhi to vote on 15th April. A Pledge was taken & signed by various RWA bodies, that they will work in their localities till the Voting date of MCD elections and will be at Polling booths with their Family members, friends, neighbours & local relatives, to vote.

The effort is being initiated, as in the last MCD elections, the voting percentage ranged between 29% to 64% that clearly meant that almost, 36% to 71% of Residents of Delhi had not taken any interest in the Voting. This time, we want this limit to touch atleast 80% so that the elected councilor is under the pressure of masses.

The gathering included a good number of RWAs from various parts of Delhi, local Market association & other NGOs & religious bodies. The event was covered by various TV channels & print media. The RWAs made various slogans to promote voting in Delhi. Promotional songs were sung by kids & elders.
