Worst living condition ?

I am sorry to read about " worst living condition ...DDA Flats....Ph-III "
The story and conditions are  the same in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Pocket 3,

Our RWA is Registered with DDA ( Regn.No.103) for the last 18-20 years now,  also in Bhagidari Delhi East, My Delhi I care. Attention of all the Govt.Departments is invited here.

To day all our inner lane rain - water drains are OPEN Drains ? There are Poles with lights fitted in our Central Park BUT for the last 15-16 years residents have not seen lights in the park at night, Some time, in the year 2005-06 only a High Mast light, courtesy our than MLA Mr. Bhrampal , was installed in this park.

We have so many a departments in 'MCD Electrical' Park Lights but there is no one who might have said the Lights in the Park shall be attended. In connection with Street Lights - there are big trees which block lights at night, trees in the parks growing like jungle trees ? what to do ? Due to this darkness in the night count less thefts in flats,Cars stolen ,car music systems stolen some time back app 11 systems were stolen in ONE night, water meters, water pumps, any thing is stolen even in the day time too; as dark streets are safe heavens for the professionalization of the thieves of this area.
We, the residents, are not authorized to cut a branch even and BSES says it is Horticulture Dept. Horticulture says it is Forest Depts. responsibility to cut / trim the trees ? So,  the point of cutting trees is just buried under various departments only without any result.

You have to live in such conditions... any way we are also in the same boat with you: do not feel disheartened that you are alone having worst conditions of living in DDA flats Phase-III !

It may be possible that mr. Ghei may have escaped his attention to above.

SIR

All decisions will be for public welfare and there is no question of any confusion. You should forward this
message and whole Delhi should reject bogus and arbitrary tariff hike. If this is not taken seriously be ready

Delhi mayor meets RWC convenors

New Delhi, Sep 11 (PTI) Taking forward the first step towards formalisation of Resident Ward Committee scheme, Delhi mayor Rajni Abbi today addressed a meeting of the convenors of first 70 wards where RWCs have so far been formed.Abbi said that the RWC scheme has the potential to bring accountability and transparency in civic governance. She, however, said that every new idea finds resistance and there needs to be patience. The mayor said she was often petitioned by councillors on the matter. "However, we have to accommodate everyone's concerns to ensure that the scheme becomes a model for the future," Abbi said. The RWC scheme has been constituted by involving one representative from each RWA within a ward and will be chaired by the municipal councillor of the ward.

Reply from Mr.Rajiv Kakria

Dear Mr. Vohra Sir,

At the outset I wish to thank you for posting my earlier write ups in your Blog to spread awareness about why we are against Power Tariff Hike. Sir, it is unfortunate that due to a communication gap some confusion has taken place.

I wish to state that I have been mailing all the communications within the group that was actively presenting their Objections / Suggestions collectively to DERC. You may be aware that as a group we had made presentations in DERC on four points ie. Logical, Technical, Legal and Criminal. We had, through our mailing list invited everyone to participate in the meeting. In this meeting at Defence Colony Club we had devised the strategy and chose who all will lead on the above topics with others supporting.

Mr. Hementha Sharma was to present the Technical, Mr. Anil Sood was to lead on Legal front and I was entrusted to present Logical and Criminal part. We as a group did present and built public and media pressure and were hopeful of again getting DERC to reduce Tariff. We were surprised to note that DERC instead chose to depend on WPI / Inflation to be the reason to increase Tariffs, ignoring all our well argued submissions ....... as if on a cue from Mrs. Dikshit's statement before the Public Hearings.

Sir, during the course of Public Hearings many individuals, NGOs and RWAs contacted us giving support and valuable inputs. Sir, in the past two weeks I have myself attended many RWA meetings and the general sense of the public is to fight this unjust hike at all levels.

The one common point on which we all agree on is that to fight this we have to drop our personal affiliations and support all efforts different groups take. Now to your query, I wish to state that in the meeting called at the behest of Mr. Chetan Sharma, Mr. Ashok Bagga and Mr. P.K. Roy on 7-9-2011 in GK-II the final resolution was on three points ......

1. A one line letter asking the Councillors, MLAs and MPs to state whether they 'Support Residents in their fight against Power Tariff Hike .......... YES or NO and get it signed.

2. Hold Protest Marches to local BSES / NDPL offices involving different RWAs to spread awareness in local residents.

3. Start a civil disobedience movement and tell people not to pay 22% increased tariff.

This was the resolution at GK-II where Mr. Ghei was present and was ratified in a meeting in East Delhi where many RWAs from East Delhi were present and we as the group that collectively appeared before DERC were invited. This resolution has been supported by other groups also and I request you and your Group to also support it.

Yesterday, I had circulated a mail informing that we can make partial payments without fear of disconnection. Sir, not every one adhered to the call Gandhiji made but because of those who did everyone got freedom ....... not everyone went to Ramlila Grounds but everyone will benefit from a corruption free India. Like in all calls, people unwilling to or due to medical, educational or other reasons are unable to adhere to the call can be exempted ....... civil disobedience movements have to keep that in mind.

We as representatives of people have to come together for the cause. No group has primacy and no individual is a leader, I can speak on behalf of the Group that collectively made a common DERC presentation and those present in GK-II and East Delhi meetings. In no way we claim to be the sole voice of Dehi. Please feel free to call us whereever you wish and we will be more than happy to make a presentation of what we had placed before DERC and various other fora.

In the meanwhile different groups are free to adopt what ever strategy to get the message across and which group to support. However, it will be unfortunate if we are unable to come together for a common cause that affects every Resident. Sir, I hope I have managed to clear the confusion. As for your following questions ........

Can the RWAs take such a decision ? I think it depends on the credibility of the RWA ...... people are a lot wiser and have a way of knowing whats right.

If a consumer accepts this decision & his electricity connection is disconnected by Discoms, than who will take the responsibility to re connect it ? Sir, again in a Civil Disobedience Movement people volunteer and are individually responsible ..... this is not to shirk responsibility but to inform that there may be pain to get a gain. All those who courted arrest with ANNA did it for a cause and did not wait for team Anna to bail them out ..... and thats how movements become successful.

Warm Regards,

Rajiv Kakria

no where it was decided or even discussed not to pay 22% additional charges

Our Mr K K Ghei has posted on the blog that, " On 7th of this month at 7pm in GK II ARYA SAMAJ MANDIR, i attended meeting organised for discussion of tariff issues. While i agree with all decisions taken, no where it was decided or even discussed not to pay 22% additional charges."

Whereas the Times of India says that, " The fight against the recent power tariff hike has taken a new turn. About 60 resident welfare associations across south and east Delhi have decided not to pay the increased 22 per cent tariff and the fixed charges in the next billing cycle. They hope to put pressure on the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) and the Delhi government to rollback the hike."

Can't understand that why such a confusion ?

Can the RWAs take such a decision ?

If  a consumer accepts this decision & his electricity connection is disconnected by Discoms, than who will take the responsibility to re connect it ?

Many more questions but let's see what our members & viewers have to say in this regard.

Worst living conditon for residents of DDA Flats Mayur vihar PH III

Dear Siror Madam,

I am resident of DDA Flats Pocket C2 (close to Sapera Basti), Mayur Vihar PH III. We, all residents of this pocket are facing the below mentioned problems in our pocket:

1. Drainage and Sanitation problem: As our block is close to Gharoli Village, there are open drains on both side of the main street. MCD sweepers hardly can be found there to  clear these drains. Due to which drain water keep on flowing on road whole day. If by any chance any MCD sweeper comes, he put all the rubbish material on Main gate of our flats. It is never been picked up from there and gradually comes back in to drains.

2. Commercial Factory in residentail area: There are two commercial distribution factories one for Pepsi and other for Bala Ji namkeen is in operation on opposite side of our block. Due to which, whole day huge trucks are standing on whole main street and main adjacent road. Due to this, neither our children nor ladies of the block are able to go outside of block boundary. There are lot of number of chain snatching and thefts.

We have lodged a lot of complaints with our MCD Councellor. But there is no actoon taken.

I just wish to know if we can get any support in this matter od if you can guide us towards  any solution which you can help the residents of our block.

I will also forward you some snaps related to this problem.

Waiting for your prompt response.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully
RWA
