Please observe Earth Hour

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries/territories officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.

On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.

Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). This Earth Hour we want you to go beyond the hour, so after the lights go back on think about what else you can do to make a difference. Together our actions add up.

Please Switch off the LIGHTS today between 8:30pm to 9:30pm to observe Earth Hour to save our planet.

With Best Regards

Wonder Treatment

VICKS  VapoRub - INTERESTING
During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us  how  the  foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your  feet  and  within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it.

Some of us have used Vicks VapoRub for years  for  everything  from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts  in  between.  But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100%  of  the  time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why.

To stop  night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found  out  personally),  put Vicks VapoRub generously on the soles of your  feet,  cover  with socks, and the heavy, deep coughing will stop in about  5  minutes  and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100%  of  the  time and is more effective in children than even very  strong  prescription  cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing  and  comforting  and they will sleep soundly.

Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up  this  guy  talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm  than  good,  due to the chemicals in them This method of using Vicks VapoRub  on  the  soles of the feet was found to be more effective than  prescribed  medicines  for children at bed time. In addition it seems to have  a  soothing  and calming effect on sick children who then went on to  sleep  soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very  deep  constant  and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%!  She  said  that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her,  coughing  stopped  in a few minutes. So she went from; every few  seconds uncontrollable  coughing, she slept cough-free for hours every night  she  used  it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end  up sick, try it yourself and you will be amazed at how it works.

DON'T SHUN THIS ONE. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET  A  BAD  COLD.  THE ONLY THING YOU CAN LOSE IS YOUR COUGH.

TO ALL CIRITIQUES OF SOURCES OF POWER

Sir, pardon my way of thinking. No dearth of persons opposing hydro projects or neuclear sources of power.
Fossil resources are dwindling throughout world. America and other intelligent nations are not touching their gas resources but are willing to spend much higher price on petrolium products from arabian countries, wage war just for the sake of resources. We, in INDIA are falling in their trap.No dearth of sold or otherwise persons who are opposing any form of addition in power capacity.BECAUSE they are not affected, shedding of 12 hours of electricity has no meaning to them.
SIR,
We have moved away from animal power. Do we want to go to our original state or we want to move ahead and be counted in the reasonably advanced nations.

KK GHEI SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT EDRWASJF

We are not against the Nuclear Reactors for Power. Infact now only these sources are available for countries like India. But the point of Contradiction is that it should not be installed in the areas PRONE TO EARTHQUAKE. The said area has got over 92 Earthquakes in the last 20 years. Just think the fate of Japan. Today also a massive Earthquake has hit Myanmar & who is next ?????

One of the biggest nuclear reactors planned in Jaitapur, Maharashtra is in an earthquake prone zone !

Are you in Delhi on Friday, March 25th? If you are, then you should join me and several others marching to the Parliament to protest against India’s nuclear ambitions. I will also deliver the petition against the nuclear power plant in Jaitapur, signed by thousands like you to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Register for the march to Parliament here
While the rest of the world is seriously reviewing its nuclear power plants post Japan, the Indian government is only downplaying the risks of a nuclear accident in the country. One of the biggest nuclear reactors planned in Jaitapur, Maharashtra is in an earthquake prone zone [1] and will use untested technology. [2] Can you imagine a Japan-like situation and the way it would be handled here?

On March 25th people from all walks of life are marching to the Parliament, to tell the government that the people of this country do not support dangerous technology. Join this march to tell the government that it can’t put our lives at risk. More people will make a bigger impact.

Register here: http://www.greenpeace.org/india/en/What-We-Do/Nuclear-Unsafe/join-the-march-to-the-parliament/
