Why in delhi NO HIGH MAST LIGHTS BURNING IN PARKS

Dear Brothers and Sisters of DELHI
NONE will believe that high mast lights provided from COUNCILLOR OR MLA FUNDS will remain un attended and hence pitch darkness in parks for more than nine months now.
I have failed i admit that despite my personal visits to our area councillor of MCD PREET NAGAR WARD, and talking to all concerned...(to ensure burning of high mast lights in seven parks of Madhuvan) NO LIGHT IS BURNING, despite a couple of chain sntachings and vehicle thefts.
So is the status of water supply in Madhuvan.
There was 24 hours supply in Madhuvan and now not even for two hours.
Please let us meet urgently and decide our action plan for common problems.

We the citizens of delhi and MCD

There was justification for all illegalities (perhaps) from 1947 to 1960 when sudden influx of population in delhi resulted into unprecendented shortage of dwelling units.
But surely sixty years should have been sufficient to tackle this and other allied problems. But we are famed not to solve but to create multiple situations which could help to line up our pockets.
MCD or police are only two very visible icons of wrong doings.
Look at the parking lot at preet vihar community centre.
You shall find large number of buses and tempos parked just near police station.
The flooring near standard chartered bank is broken and now even commercial vehicles climb the tiles to unload water bottles.
Such situations and the one like LALITA PARK are the hunting ground for MCD BUILDING DEPARTMENT.
Can any body believe that such illegal buildings came up without willful co operation of building and police staff.
Let us act fast and make our elected leaders to see reason.

Councillor Beaten Up By Public

COUNCILLOR BEATEN UP BY PUBLIC

Sh. Sohan Lal Municpal Councilor was beaten up by Public while ceiling in the area was on.
MCD sealed the buildings which were below 15 meter heights and also beyond 300 meter away from Pusta.
Sh Sohan lal blamed and named Sh. Manish Garg who was not there while he was beaten up because his father being a Chairman of RWA (Delhi Govt. Bhagidari) raised the questions of illegal occupation of Govt. land being used as a parking and charging the money from public for last 8 years. This RWA has already filed a writ petition in the Hon’ble in High Court for misuse of revenue and illegal possession of Govt. land of Rs. 40 Crore. This unauthorized parking on Govt. land belongs to PWD.
A large number of the people of the locality went to Sohan Lal, the area councillor, that the buildings being sealed are the 15 meters less in the height and they are small kinds are out their home. The people of his own locality and his staunch supporters had a hot talk with him and on his shrewd behaviour he asked his parking guard to attack on the public and to oust them from the parking land.
This lead to a quarrel between above public & Sh. Sohan lal.

FIR's ?

Dear Mr. Vohra ji,

We must first compliment you on giving us updated information on all fronts. The step proposed to be taken will be revolutionary but (this is a big question) will the Police do it! Notwithstanding, what about Police reluctant to file a FIR when you go to the Police station! I will tell you what happened with us yesterday.

We are making serious efforts to make our colony protected from all sides by provision of gates in the service lanes and constructing a wall on the outer border of the colony spending a huge amount of the residents for their benefit to ensure their safety and security of their property and lives. In this exercise we had installed a gate in one of the service lanes, which is exposed to entry of miscreants. This was done on 5th instant and some miscreants broke the entire thing on 6th night in odd hours. When we came to know on 7th morning i.e. yesterday, the managing committee of the society met at an emergent meeting and decided unanimously to file a FIR on the matter and proceeded in one lot all members of the MC and reached the Police Station in the afternoon at 3.45 p.m. Having not found the SHO, who was on leave, we reported to the duty clerk at the P.S. to file a FIR but was reluctant and contacted all his superiors to avoid filing the FIR but ultimately despite our best efforts we could not do it but registered a 'complaint' only! Can you tolerate it? This is what is happening in Police Stations who make all efforts to avoid filing a FIR, so that they will not be accountable for complaints but FIR only!  How can you overcome such situations? This is a matter of serious concern to be pondered over and remedial action to be taken!  Why people that too a registered society is refused to file a FIR, when it is their fundamental right!

Put All New FIRs Online: Delhi HC

In a major move towards transparency in police functioning, the high court has directed the Delhi Police to start uploading all First Information Reports (FIRs) registered in the city onto its website within 24 hours of filing. The police are required to implement the order from February 1, 2011.
The landmark order, passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Manmohan, said it's the duty of the police to provide information and the accused does not need to move court to get a copy of an FIR.

"Fair and impartial investigation is a facet of Article 21 of the Constitution and presumption as regards the innocence of an accused is a right. Therefore, a person booked under criminal law has a right to know the nature of allegations so that he can take necessary steps to safeguard his liberty," the bench said.

Earlier, additional solicitor general A S Chandiok and amicus curie Arvind Nigam submitted their suggestions on the matter.

The counsel had said that recording of an FIR was an official act of a public official in discharge of his or her official duties and, therefore, it was a public document within the meaning of Section 74 of the Evidence Act, 1872.

To Fill Its Coffers, MCD Mulls Higher Property Tax Rates

Get ready to shell out more money from next year, as the MCD is planning to increase the property tax rates. Sources say, the cash-strapped Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is planning to hike property tax to generate more revenue to fund its projects. Currently, the entire MCD area has been divided into eight categories A to H, wherein category A stands for upscale colonies such as New Friends Colony, Vasant Vihar among others.

However, sources say, as per the proposal, to be tabled in the budget meeting on Wednesday, the entire MCD area will be divided into two categories as far as tax rate is concerned wherein categories A, B, C, D, and E will be clubbed together and will pay 15% property tax while categories F, G, H will be charged 10%.

Presently category A and B are charged 12%, C, D and E are charged 11% and F, G and H are charged 7%.

"The MCD's financial position is not very sound and property tax is a major source of revenue for the MCD. Even last year, the rates we had suggested were reduced by the legislative wing. We hope this year they will accept it," said a senior MCD official.

The proposal will only be accepted after the MCD's standing committee clears it. "The commissioner will propose a number of taxes including property tax. We will examine them and take a decision. We are not in favour of including property tax and burdening people. We would rather get more people in the tax net," said Yogender Chandolia, MCD standing committee chairman.

This year, too, the civic body had increased tax rates. According to the civic agency, its property tax collection has been going down every year.

The civic agency has been trying to bring more people into the ambit of tax collection to increase collections and has been conducting a survey to identify property owners who have not made payments. Besides this, they have offered rebate in additional interest and penalty to encourage taxpayers to pay arrears.

RTI activist Subhash Agrawal had sought details from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on whether it planned to make any privilege allotment to VIPs.
DDA in its reply Dec 1 said "no such information is available in this office (DDA)".

There are 1,168 flats - 31 two-bedroom, 765 three-bedroom, 209 four-bedroom and 163 five-bedroom ones - at the CWG Village near Akshardham in east Delhi, DDA said in its reply.

Of these, DDA can sell 711 flats while the remaining 790 will be sold by private developer Emaar-MGF.

There have been reports in the media that the DDA is planning to give the majority of CWG flats to senior officials.
