Capital’s crime graph shows 50% rise in 2 months

IN the last two months the crime graph of Delhi has shown a steep rise. Crimes against women and murders have increased by almost 50 per cent. According to figures provided by Delhi Police, in the last two months 554 cases were registered every day. In June and July, Delhi Police have registered 33,224 FIRs, which notched up to 1,06,422 till July 31 from January 1. According to data of Delhi Police, in the last two months seven rape cases, 16 molestation cases and about two murders were registered.
Also, in every 55 minutes snatchers targeted a Delhi resident, and four people lost their lives in road accidents.
Police are however claiming these figures indicate that every case is getting registered. "These figures clearly show that Delhi Police are doing truthful registration
registration and we are registering every case which needs to be registered," Delhi Police Public Relations Officer Rajan Bhagat told Mail Today.
Till May 31, Delhi Police registered 820 cases of rape in various police stations across the Capital. But in the last two months this figure shot up by 50 per cent and touched the 1,222 mark till July 31.

VULGAR Advertisements on TV News and other Channels

Dear Friends / Residents,

You might have noted that earlier VULGAR Advertisements on Condoms and other products used to run after 11-00 PM when children hv gone for sleep.

I observe presently a highly VULGAR Advertisement of 'MAN Force' condoms starts running on TV News Channels and might be on all news and other entertainment channels right from 7-00 AM onwards. I think most of us will feel guilty when children and servants etc are also watching these TV channels.

Seems either our cautious has died down or we are short of time and energy to spare time to raise objections for such programs.

Many of you might hv lodged the complaints. Please update me on your details. I also tried for searching for a website and Forwarding a link below where details are given how to lodge your complaint.

Requesting my active Social Activist friends to pleaseeeeeee initiate the action and  copy of action taken be forwarded to me for my also lodging the complaint besides forwarding into my huge mailing  group for necessary action.

Warm Regards

Quietly MCD plans to upgrade Colonies to a Higher Category ...... IE ..... Category-B Colonies to Category-A etc

Shamelessly Serving CATTLE Class – Charging CLUB Class
QUESTIONS:

1. How many new Tax Payers has MCD added in the Tax Net ..... currently only 30% are paying Property Tax ?

2. Has MCD upgraded the Infrastructure ..... Parking, Sewage, Drainage etc ?

3. Has MCD improved upkeep of Roads, Parks, Schools, Sanitation etc ?

4. Does MCD know that the worst hit will be Category-B Colonies as the circle Rate will become higher than the Market Value of the Property ?

NORTH AND EAST MCD HAVE ALREADY PASSED A RESOLUTION TO UPGRADE COLONIES TO A HIGHER LEVEL ........ SDMC SHALL SOON FOLLOW.

The Municipal Valuations Committee (MVC) submitted its report in 2010 after Public Hearings. At that time RWA’s managed to get the upgrade stalled on the grounds that MCD should first bring the infrastructure up to the level of a Category-A Colony and then think of making the change.

Three years hence, the condition of most colonies is worse off on all fronts. Over the past few years most colonies have deteriorated in civic infrastructure and many facilities have vanished ........ the roads have not been re-carpeted and have bigger potholes; sewage has been overflowing on streets and back-flowing into homes; water supply is even more erratic; no parking facility has been added; back-lanes are a mess; footpaths broken and encroached; rampant water logging during rains; reduced bus service and no Metro Feeder Service .... the list is long.

Now Quietly, without taking Public or RWA’s into confidence, the MCD is pushing through a proposal to upgrade twentyfive Category-B colonies, based on a 2010 Municipal Valuations Committee Report.

The logic given in the MVC Report is, up-gradation of a colony is not being done on the basis of infrastructure provided, but is to be raised on account of capital appreciation .... RWAs took strong objection to this line of thinking, Property Tax is collected for the Infrastructure and Municipal Services provided and not Notional Gains.

MCD must understand .... 1. Capital appreciation of property arises only when one sells a property and this notional appreciation is of no use to the resident. 2. State Govt. extracts 7% Stamp Duty on purchase of property. 3. Central Govt. charges a hefty 23.65% including cess by way of Capital Gains Tax.

Cash strapped MCD has other ways to increase revenue, raising the category without first improving the infrastructure is Daylight ROBERY. MCD had raised the Tax rate from 10% to 12% in 2012 instead of upgrading the colonies, after Public Outcry. They can again raise the Tax Rate by factoring in inflation, better still TARGET lakhs who are not in Tax Net ...... but application of the Mind or Hard Work is not MCD’s forte.

Upgrading to Category-A will not only Tantamount to Cheating but will also make it difficult to sell Properties in all Category-B colonies as has been the case in Friends Colony. The CIRCLE RATE of Category-A is Rs.7,74,000/- per sqm where as the circle rate of Category-B is Rs.2,45,520/- per sqm ...... the going rate in Category-B is around 5-6 lakhs/sq.yard.

Meaning there by that even if one sells property at Five Lakhs/sq.yard, you pay Registration Fee at 7 Lakhs/sq.yard.

IS THAT FAIR ????? If tumbling property prices and rentals in the past year are anything to go by, then most colonies should be downgraded to Category-C-D as MCD has done precious little to upgrade the ageing infrastructure ..... are you listening Area Councillors ?

Warm Regards,

Rajiv Kakria

DON’T YOU THINK SO ?

lucky that  delhi does not come last the MCD SHOULD LEARN FROM NDMC UNLESS COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY IS FELT THE POSITION MAY WORSEN. THE ROOT CAUSE IS STAFF NOT WORKING PROPERLY.THE WORK SHOLD BE HANDED OVER TO PRIVATE OPERATOR UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF RWA OR MARKET ASSOCIATION ETC . POLLUTION-THE PASSAGE OF WATE WATER INTO NULLAH STOPPED AND SHOULD BE TREATED ON SPOT AND USED FOR OTHER PURPOSE GARDEN ETC.WATER LOGGING- THE THROWING OF GARBAGE ON ROAD TO WATER OUTLET MADE IN ROAD MAY BE STOPPED  MORE THAN 80% PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED. TRAFFIC JAM- AS PUBLIC TRANSPORT FAILED SO MORE PRIVATE VEHICLES BUT ROADS ARE ALMOST SAME HENCE TRAFFIC JAM.

DON’T YOU THINK SO ?

If a national capital ranks 379th out of 476 in cleanliness, if that's the most polluted in the world, if that faces massive water logging at every drop of rain, and, if it bears mega traffic jam at every corner, the Govt. of that city or the Civic bodies, must have no right to spend even a single rupee on the publicity.

Dirty Delhi ranks in bottom 100 of India's clean city list

NEW DELHI: It may be the nation's capital but Delhi is so filthy that it ranks among the bottom 100 in a list of 476 municipal areas of India assessed for cleanliness. It stands at a lowly 379. But its elite zone, administered by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation, ranks a high 16th on the list.

Not just Delhi, most parts of north India have done badly in the survey conducted by the ministry of urban development as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign. In the survey that assessed munici ..

Mysore is India's cleanest municipal area and Damoh in Madhya Pradesh the dirtiest. Bengaluru tops state capitals in the list and Patna stands last.

Here is a stunner for Delhi loyalists who never tire of comparing their city's clean and green environs to Mumbai's chaos -- Greater Mumbai actually stands way above the capital, 147th in the list, and Navi Mumbai ranks an impressive No 3.

FSSAI-approved lab finds Maggi noodles safe

NEW DELHI: In a major boost to Nestle India, FSSAI-approved laboratory of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) has found Maggi noodles to be in compliance with the country's food safety standards.

CFTRI had tested five samples sent by Goa Food and Drug Administration (FDA) when Maggi was banned in June in the wake of findings in Uttar Pradesh and other states that the instant noodles brand had lead levels beyond permissible limits.

"CFTRI finding shows that samples are in compliance with the food safety standards as per the Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011," Goa FDA director Salim A Veljee said.

Goa FDA had sent the Maggi noodles samples to Mysore-based CFTRI for retesting of the safety of instant noodles after FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) expressed apprehensions on state FDA's initial report, which had found lead within permissible limits.

In June this year, Nestle had to take Maggi off the shelves, after few states decided to ban the noodles. FSSAI had also banned Maggi instant noodles terming them "unsafe and hazardous" for human consumption.
