CALLING RWAs THE INDIAN POLICE FOUNDATION (IPF) IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US CARRY OUT A CITIZEN SATISFACTION SURVEY ON THE QUALITY OF POLICING IN YOUR LOCALITY. Do you have the passion and dedication to play a positive role in improving crime control and security in your area?

Greetings from the Indian Police Foundation (IPF)! The IPF Online Volunteer Scheme is a platform to build partnerships between citizens and the police.  IPF Volunteers will help in promoting community engagement, trust, and harmony among citizens, spreading awareness about how policing touches the lives of every citizen and why good policing is essential for India’s internal security and economic development.     Our Police Forces perform a crucial role in protecting the lives and property of citizens, controlling crime, and maintaining societal peace which is considered essential for India’s internal security and democracy. IPF believes that a peaceful and crime-free society is essential to focus on India’s fight against poverty, unemployment, and disease and a pre-condition to India’s growth as a strong political and economic power.   This is an opportunity for students, youth, RWAs, and citizens in general, to participate in voluntary work for a public cause: to be an IPF Online Volunteer to conduct the annual Citizen Satisfaction Survey on the quality of policing in your area. Citizens of a democratic country have an important responsibility of providing feedback on the quality of governance. Our Citizen Satisfaction Survey is intended to understand public perceptions about the quality of police service and thereby help the police to continuously improve their services. RWAs have an important role to play in improving the quality of policing, public security, regulation of traffic, etc.    TEN VOLUNTEERS EACH, FROM EVERY DISTRICT IN INDIA    IPF invites the partnership of RWAs from every District of India, to be our Online Volunteers to support us in this mission.  The IPF Online Volunteers will be required to assist us in conducting the annual citizen satisfaction survey so that we can capture feedback and diverse voices, from every district in the country.   Please note that this call is for persons wanting to volunteer. There is no financial or any other remuneration for this voluntary work.  However, in the future, IPF plans to hold seminars, discussions, webinars, etc to help RWAs to improve crime control and community policing.  We shall continue to remain in touch with you for this purpose.  Online Volunteers from RWAs will be given e-Certificates of Volunteering, in recognition of their contribution, at the end of the year. MCD Trifurcation - Cash crunch at EDMC - East Delhi suffered badly !

In 2011, the Sheila Dikshit government moved a proposal to divide the MCD into three separate bodies, arguing that it will improve overall efficiency. In November 2011, the Union home ministry cleared the proposal. 

The Delhi government convened a special assembly session and passed the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill in December 2011. Then-President Pratibha Patil cleared it in the same month.

The final notification for the trifurcation was issued in January 2012, carving North, South, and East Delhi Municipal Corporations with 104 wards given to the first two and 64 to the third respectively.

We knew that EDMC will face a severe cash crunch & we opposed the proposal from day one.

And we faced the Strike by the Sanitation workers in East Delhi. In fact, there were multiple strikes & residents faced garbage all over. 

We can just hope that the Unification of MCD will improve the overall situation of the areas under EDMC, which has so many issues such as Air - Pollution, Waterlogging, Parking, Traffic jam, Encroachment, Right to walk, etc.

DSGMC condoles death of two Indian students belong to Karnataka and Punjab in Ukraine

Harmeet Singh Kalka, President and Jagdip Singh Kahlon, General Secretary, DSGMC condoled death of two Indian students belong to Karnataka and Punjab in the war-torn Ukraine .As reported one student died in bomb shelling in Kharkiv and another one died due to suffering from ischemic stroke.  They said that whatever is going on in Ukraine is very unfortunate. The people living there, are facing many ordeals such as hunger and shortage of medical amenities/medicines.  Somehow people are forced to live in bunkers to protect their lives.

Kalka and Kahlon informed that Bhog of Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was performed today at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib for the safe return of Indian students and others stranded in Ukraine and world peace and prayer was also performed for the well being of all.

 Kahlon said that amid adverse conditions, Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Warsaw, Poland providing langar to the war affected needy people following the footsteps shown by Guru Sahibs. People of all religions are taking shelter in this Gurdwara which is good example of integrity in diversity of  India.  He appealed to Indians living in the vicinity to come forward and help the distressed and stranded Indians in Ukraine.

On the occasion, S. Atma Singh Lubana, Vice President, S. Jaspreet Singh Karamsar, Chairman, Dharam Parchar Committee, S. Harjeet Singh Pappa, Member, S. Sukhbir Singh Kalra, Member, S. Gurdev Singh, Member, Ramandeep Singh Thapar, Member, S. Ranjit Singh, Head Granthi, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib and staff of DSGMC and Sangat in large number were present.
