Open letter to the Education Minister of Delhi, for the safety & security of our children !

Mr Manish Sisodia,
Dy CM & Education Minister, Delhi

Dear Sir,

We are sad and shocked on the instances happening at various schools in Delhi & NCR, be it a death at Gurugram, a rape at Gandhi Nagar, or an accidental death at Ghaziabad. These all are the clear cut examples of the negligence on the part of the School management.

We hereby request you to please issue immediate instructions to all the schools in Delhi (both Private as well as Government), to :

1. Deploy a responsible person / staff, separately, to look after, all the security lapses, or any other safety & security issues, concerning the students of the school, on daily basis.

2. He must Look after the Screening of the Staff, at the time of appointment, must check the papers & documents of all the buses, drivers, helpers, contractors, vendors, and must go for the Police verification in each & every case.

3. He must file a daily report on all the issues, as above, with the management of the school & must forward it by an E Mail to the Education department on daily basis.

4. He must file an Action taken report by an e mail with the Education Department, who on their side must have special staff to correlate all these issues.

5. Parent Teacher Association must have the suitable representation of the parents as well the local RWAs & must be authorised to view the Lapse report as well as the Action taken reports of the school, must have the power to verify the facts and must report to the Education department, by an E mail.

6. Any pending issues must be notified on the notice board of the school and must be shared with the parents at the PTM by the PTA of that school.

7. There must be clear cut instructions that any negligence will be strongly dealt with and in case of any heinous crimes, molestation, rape, murder, all the affiliations, licenses, grants of the school will be withheld, till probed & reported.

Looking forward for an immediate action from your office as all of us are parents and truly concerned with the safety & security of our children.

With best regards,

B S Vohra,
