During august 2010, unprecedented deaths due to electrocution have taken place. Children dying in school, colleges and parks as well as on roads due to touching of uncared live wires is UN ACCEPTABLE.
If i remember correctly, each electrical accident is to be reported by department concerned to ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR DELHI ADMINISTRATION.
FIR is to be registered by police and investigation to be carriend out independently by department, police and electrical inspector.
There used to be court cases also and the officers concerned used to be punished for their lapses.
I was member of ELECTRICAL ACCIDENT INQUIRY COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED BY DESU and was also member of BOARD OF EXAMINERS DELHI ADMINISTRATION.
So, i know from my personal experience that most of the electrocution casses are due to non operation of protective devices in substation. BSES IS DEPLOYING UN TRAINED AND UN AUTHORISED PERSONS TO CARRY OUT REPAIR AND ATTEND NO CURRENT COMPLAINTS.
It is in the interest of all of us that a sample check is carried out in all parts of delhi.
The electrocution cases need to be monitored but i do not know how it can be done.
