Enjoy the best street food at a road side Dhaba !

Parantha is a famous food of Delhi & Punjab and almost everyone of us like to eat Paranthas & that too stuffed with Aloo, Aloo Pyaj as well Egg. Its regularly cooked in our kitchen at our home as a morning breakfast. When out of Delhi, we prefer to eat it, as its time saving.

There are many sources where you can go and have it. ‘Ahuja Number 1’ at Sonipat and ‘Fauji Dhaba’ at Karnal bypass are the most famous ones though many new hotels with Star ratings have come up on this stretch of GT Road such as ‘Haveli’. But today I am writing about the Pranthas of Mool Chand at Delhi itself.

Yeah ! I was quite unknown about this roadside eatery shop. Once I heard about it in one of the newspaper & decided to go there to have its taste.

It was a small Dhaba type on the corner of a road just opposite the mool chand metro station. It was around 6 pm in the evening and I was surprised to find a large number of cars parked here and there & the Paranthas were being served in the car itself.

We parked our car & decided to place the order. Within minutes a young man was standing in front of us, to book the order. We asked for Aloo Parantha as well Aloo pyaj parantha.

Within 5 minutes we had the same in our car with Parantha in a paper plate with chutney, pyaj & green mirch. We asked for Rayta & butter & he brought the same in the split of a second.

Though we are regular eaters of stuffed paranthas & we have tried it at many places, including Five star hotels of Delhi. But the taste of parantha here was a bit different. It was crispy and very tasty.

Soon we finished it and ordered the Egg Parantha. We have tried the same at the ITO also where the shop opens after 10 pm and that too for two hours only for the vendors of newspapers. The egg parantha at Mool Chand looked good & again very crispy & tasty.

As we really enjoyed the Paranthas at Mool Chand, i asked about the history of this Dhaba & how it became so famous. I was told by the person in charge, Vijay, that it was opened in the year 1975 and the owner was  Ram Lal Thakkar.

I was told that they have regular customers from every part of Delhi & many top celebrities also visit the road side Dhaba to have the stuffed parantha. It has become so famous that it has been covered by almost all the newspapers. We were told that if we are there after 8 pm, we have to wait for much longer duration to enjoy the food due to heavy rush there.

We too liked the Road Side food, though it was not that much hygienic as we prefer to eat. But once in a month, we can definitely come here to enjoy it. If you have not yet visited this road side open air Dhaba, for the best street food, plz visit once & have the taste of Delhiites, Desi Food.

दिल्ली मे UV इंडेक्स का ख़तरा,UV इंडेक्स 12

By B S Vohra, New delhi, May 30  : बचपन मे सुना करते थे कि दूर कहीं आसमानों मे एक ओज़ोन की लेयर होती है ओर अगर वो कट गई तो सूरज की पेरा बेंगनी किरणें धरती पे आ जाएँगी जिससे कई तरह की बीमारियों का ख़तरा हो जाएगा. समय बीतता गया और जैसे जैसे हम बड़े हुआ, यह सुनाई देने लगा की पोल्स के आसपास ओज़ोन की लेयर कट गई है. लेकिन आज पहली बार है की जब हम सुन रहे हैं ही वो पेरा बेंगनी किरणें दिल्ली तक पहुँच चुकी हैं.

दिल्ली मे आजकल UV इंडेक्स 8 के लगभग बोला जा रहा है यह भी कहा जा रहा है कि अगर ये UV इंडेक्स 10 से ज़्यादा हो जाए तो लोगों के लिए बहुत ख़तरनाक हो सकता है क्योंकि ऐसे मे अगर कुछ देर भी धूप मे इन पेरा बेंगनी किरणों के तले रहा जाए तो स्किन कॅन्सर जैसी भयावह बीमारियाँ हो सकती हैं. जबकि एक विदेशी वेबसाइट का कहना है की दिल्ली मे इन दिनो UV इंडेक्स 12 के करीब चल रहा है.

अब दिल्ली मे UV इंडेक्स 8 है, 10 है या फिर 12, इसका जवाब तो सरकारी मॉनिटरिंग एजेन्सीस ही दे पाएँगी लेकिन इतना तो तय है की आज हम लोग उस मुकाम पे पहुँच चुके है जहाँ विटामिन D के लिए भी, अगर हम धूप मे खड़े होते हैं तो स्किन कॅन्सर का ख़तरा मोल लेना पड़ेगा.

ऐसे मे कल्पना कीजिए उन लोगों की जो कि सारा दिन धूप मे घूमते हैं, जिनकी रोज़ी रोटी ही सारा दिन बाहर धूप मे घूमने से चलती है, क्या होगा उन सबका ? क्या वो सब इस अंजान ख़तरे के चलते बीमारियों के शिकार हो जाएँगे ? वो जो सड़को पे रिक्शा चलाते हैं, वो जो अपना समान बेचने के लिए गली गली घूमते हैं, वो जो खेतों मे पसीना बहा कर हम सब का पेट भरते हैं, वो जो रेगिस्तान की धूप ओर गर्मी मे देश के बॉर्डर्स की रक्षा करते हैं या फिर वो जो खेल के मैदान मे खेलते हुए देश का नाम रोशन करते हैं. क्या होगा उन सबका ?

ख़तरा तो बहुत बड़ा है, मौत अपना मूह फाडे हम लोगों के घरों तक पहुँच चुकी है. अभी भी अगर हम लोगों ने होश नही ली तो आने वाले दिनो ओर सालों मे लाखों लोग बीमारियों के शिकार हो कर काल के ग्रस्त हो जाएँगे. अब देखना है की हमारी सरकार इस बड़े ख़तरे को कैसे अंजाम तक पहुँचाती है.

5-20% hike in Power Bills ...... now pay for ACCHE DIN with INTEREST

Cut to July 16th 2014, with much fanfare DERC announced the Power Tariff, Delhites spared a Power Shock with a marginal increase of 3-5%, screamed the Headlines ..... somewhere in the Copy was hidden PPAC merged into Tariff so the new rates are Rs. 3.90/- to Rs. 4/- upto 200 units; Rs. 5.80/- to Rs. 5.95/- upto 400 units and so on adjusting the PPAC demanded by DISCOMS into various slabs.

The Magic of a new Govt. at the Centre was immediately felt and the promise of Acche Din kept ...... no Power Tariff increase this year. What the Lay Man on the street who does not participate in DERC Public Hearings is unaware of is that, DISCOMS that year had not asked for any increase in Tariff ...... they only wanted burden of their Regulatory Assets to be addressed.eel tho one can explain .... that story another day ......

I had protested then that instead of reducing Tariffs, DERC's merging of PPAC into Tariff is BACKHAND dole to DISCOMS and the Public will have to pay with interest PPAC at a later date ...... TODAY IS THAT DAY. (read attached news report)

Cut to November 15th 2014 ..... DERC announces increase in Tariff due to PPAC and within 24 hours withdraws the order citing a Technicality ...... the real reason was that Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections were due to be announced any day ..... I had said then, Delhites will pay for it one day with interest ...... THAT DAY IS TODAY. (read attached news reports)

Dear All,

Attached is an extract of my Petition dated 14-05-2014, wherein I had clearly stated that FCA is not calculated scientifically nor is it done in a transparent manner. DERC in its wisdom had merged FCA into Tariff in its July order ....... Now they have reintroduced it after conducting a SHAM OF A PUBLIC HEARING on 30-09-2014 ...... I had circulated my protest in my mail Delhi RWAs Boycott DERCs KANGAROO COURT on MYT ...... on 30-09-2014.

NEED I SAY MORE .......

In my Petition to DERC in 2014 I had written ....... "Fleecing Public by allowing arbitrary FCA / PPAC: Power Purchase Adjustment Cost is the new tool to Loot public and give undue profits to DISCOMS in connivance with NTPC to cover for NTPCs incompetence, while DERC does not investigate the true value of FCA. It is to be noted that NDMC asks for just 0.86% FCA. Further DERC is allowing FCA as a percentage of Retail Cost where as FCA should be applicable on Production Cost only.

Has DERC ever tried to determine total component of Fuel Cost in the Production of Power? We believe it is not more than 15% ….. 23% in case of inefficient Plants, DISCOMS have demand a hefty 30% and manage to get 12%, where is the Rational? DERC has been allowing up to 8% as Fuel Charge Adjustment ….. we know that DISCOMS have not been paying their Dues to NTPC and others for the power, so where is the question of Fuel Cost Adjustment.

In a CERC meeting it was brought to light that NTPC has no scientific system of calculating fuel cost and the Power Producer ie NTPC itself decides how much should be the increased charge ..... ARBITRARY and protested by all DISCOMS.

DERC over time has blurred the line between FCA and PPCA, the EA provides for FCA to be adjusted quarterly and not any other Production Cost as that is a True Up exercise."

Now, DISCOMS have got a favorable order from APTEL armed with a Battery of Top Lawyers ..... had DERC taken Public Support and done some Homework and taken on Board similarly suffering State Electricity Boards and represented before the APTEL, the truth of PPCA and the Connivance of Power Generators and DISCOMS to fleece public, APTEL would have seen the matter differently.

दिल्ली में बिजली के दाम बढ़ेंगे !

By, B S Vohra, New Delhi, 27 May : एक बार फिर से दिल्ली वालों को बिजली का ज़ोर का झटका लगने वाला है और वो भी  डबल वाला. एक बार तो PPAC के नाम पर दिल्ली मे बिजली के दाम बदाए जा सकते हैं ऑर दूसरी बार पब्लिक हियरिंग के बाद सालाना बडोतरी  होने वाली है. अब देखना सिर्फ़ इतना है कि बिजली के दामो मे कितनी  बडोतरी होती है , क्योंकि  आपकी बिजली आए या ना आए, आपके घर मे बिजली की चाहे जितनी भी कटोती होती रहे, आप चाहे  गर्मी मे जितना भी पसीना बहाते रहे, आपको नई दरों पे बिजली का बिल देना ही पड़ेगा.

हम लोग तो पिछले कई सालों से डिस्कॉम के CAG ऑडिट की माँग करते आ रहे हैं. लेकिन अभी तक केजरीवाल साहिब के CAG ऑडिट का कुछ पता नही. पता नही कब वो रिपोर्ट आएगी या फिर आएगी भी या नही, क्योंकि जो अग्रीमेंट है, डिस्कॉम का सरकार के साथ, उसमे कुछ ऐसी क्लॉज़स हैं कि जब तक उनको बदला ना जाए, तब तक यह मुमकिन नही.  अब अगर अरविंदकेजरीवाल उस अग्रीमेंट को बदल सके तो उम्मीद की जा सकती है या फिर पीयूष गोयल सामने आकर दिल्ली वालों को राहत दे तो उम्मीद की जा सकती है.  लेकिन कब ?

सवाल यह भी उठता है कि क्यों ये डिस्कोमस अपने को CAG के दायरे से बाहर रखना चाहती है ? क्यों ये स्टे ओर्डर ला कर अपने को RTI के दायरे से बाहर रख लेती है ? आख़िर क्या छुपाना चाहती हैं ये डिस्कोमस क्योंकि अगर सब कुछ ठीक है तो फिर छुपने छुपाने का सवाल ही पैदा नही होता. आख़िर कब तक बिना CAG ऑडिट के, बिजली के दाम, इसी तरह बदते रहेंगे ? आख़िर कब तक दिल्ली वालो के सबर का इम्तिहान लिया जाता रहेगा ?

दिल्ली दिल वालों का शहर तो ज़रूर है लेकिन अब देखना सिर्फ़इतना है कि  आख़िर कब तक दिल्ली वाले इन डिस्कोमस के भारीबोझ को अपने कांधों से धकेलते रहेंगे ?  कब सरकार अपने वादों कोहक़ीकत का रूप दे पाएगी ?  कब हक़ीकत मे दिल्ली वालोंके अच्छे  दिन आएँगे क्योंकि कसमे, वादे, प्यार, वफ़ा, सब बातें हैं,बातों का क्या.

एक बार फिर से दिल्ली वालों को बिजली का ज़ोर का झटका लगने वाला है और वो भी दो - दो बार. एक बार तो PPAC के नाम पर दिल्ली मे बिजली के दाम बदाए जा सकते हैं ऑर दूसरी बार पब्लिक हियरिंग के बाद सालाना बडोतरी होने वाली है. 

दिल्ली दिलवालों का शहर तो ज़रूर है लेकिन अब देखना सिर्फ़ इतना है कि आख़िर कब तक दिल्ली वाले इन डिस्कोमस के भारी बोझ को अपने कांधों से धकेलते रहेंगे ? कब सरकार अपने वादों को हक़ीकत का रूप दे पाएगी ? कब हक़ीकत मे दिल्ली वालों के अच्छे दिन आएँगे क्योंकि कसमे, वादे, प्यार, वफ़ा, सब बातें हैं, बातों का क्या.

100 DAYS – AAP & RWA

It was on 18th October last year, I got an SMS from AAP that stated, “ Arvind Kejriwal’s interaction with RWA’s for their role in development of Delhi. Plz  join on 18th Oct Sat, 2 pm at Ahwan-e-Galib, ITO, opp. Mata Sundri College”.

I am absolutely apolitical & hence had no problem in visiting such an interaction with AAP. But I could not go there on that day as it was the fateful day when my loving mother had expired and at around 2 pm I was in the ambulance, with the body of my mom.

Till the results were declared, I got regular WhatsApp messages from the mobile number of Arvind Kejriwal. But the outcome of the elections, the massive majority of the AAP regime in Delhi, changed it, a lot.

The very next day, the above said WhatsApp connection stopped buzzing. No more WhatsApp messages from Arvind. Even the messages sent by us were not delivered and never exhibited a double tick or the blue line. Though it started again after a long gap, but for  a very short duration.

We the RWAs were now expecting an interaction with the AAP SARKAR but in spite of our various mails, SMS messages and the Direct Whatsapp to Arvind, we never got any reply.

In the mid of April, AAP Govt had advertised to submit suggestions for Delhi Budget. On the very same day, we mailed 10 suggestions ( later increased it by one more ) to the designated E mail ID under CC to the media. It was printed, point wise in various newspapers, but still no reply from AAP. We tweeted to the Deputy CM but even our tweets met the same fate.

The AAP team that looked much more aggressive on Social media before the elections, behaved quite differently, after the elections. It had promised reduction of power tariff for all, despite the usage, but a cap of 400 units was imposed. It had promised free water for all,  but imposed a cap in such a way that any more consumption will make you liable for the entire amount. The fate of the CAG Audit of DISCOM’s or the white paper is still unknown.

Though they were created by the media, now they want to sue them for anything published or aired, that’s not suitable to them. Whatever happened to Yogender Yadav & Prashant Bhushan is known to all.  Its law minister is under a big scanner. Its Vishwas may lose the vishwas of the general public.

Development is no more a problem for Arvind as he himself can be viewed on various TV channels, saying, that his govt has lowered the corruption and saved enough to lower the power tariff and to give free water.  Though, the RWAs, may ask for the total budget of such advertisements on various TV channels.

Just got a mail from the office of the CM that they get a large number of mails & they will revert to us shortly for a meeting with Arvind. If I  get the reply & if we could meet & discuss our issues with him, I will revert on that too, shortly.

Hope so .….as so far nothing happened ( for RWAs ) in the last 100 days.
